Chemistry of the Heart (Romancing The Geek Book 3) Kindle Edition
I have two goals: Sign-off on the newest pill for-her-pleasure as a favor to the CEO and ferret out the mole selling company secrets to an investigative journalist. I didn’t expect to find my ex-husband in the pharmaceutical lab where I’m assigned to work.
Sam Grant: reserved, quiet, exceptional in bed. He’s always been the stable and responsible one. I brought the chaos.
But we’re no longer who we were all those years ago.
Every day of sparring and banter shows me what we could be. It’s taking all I have to keep my hands to myself and not give in to our chemistry.
My dream job is on the line, and I’m afraid if I let myself fall for Sam again, I’ll lose everything.
As the secrets start to mount, I have to figure out if I can trust Sam and…myself.
Chemistry of the Heart, a steamy rom-com series set at a pharmaceutical company in Seattle, Washington, features second chance after divorce, opposites attract, women in STEM, and misguided matchmaking tropes. Find out what happens when a scientist must rely on the one woman he never got over, his ex-wife, to help him confirm the results on an important drug trial and to also clear his name.

SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥
This book had a ton of great tropes that I enjoyed plus a little suspense thrown in. It was well-written and easy to read with second chance romance, enemies to lovers and two academic main characters. We need more books about women in STEM, so thank you Emi for making Hildy smart as a whip and a bit different from the heroines I’ve been reading lately.
Hildy and Sam has chemistry from the begining and you could tell that their story was not as over as either of them thought. Five years have passed since Hildy left heartbroken after her divorce from Sam. Now she is back at the Pharmaceutical Company he works for, and her job is to uncover a mole within, a mile that some suspect is Sam himself. That puts her working closely with him, and leaves them to confront all the mistakes of the past as well as figure out if they have a future.
The love still left between Hildy and Sam is what made this book work, despite the miscommunication and the back and forth between them. The spice was well done, and I loved that they just couldn’t get enough of each other.
This one did have a couple side characters I wanted to punch in the face (even the characters agree) but overall was enjoyable. I wish I connected with the MMCs a little better but that was more on me than the writing.
I recommend this if you like characters that are academic, enjoy a second chance romance, and like an enemies to lovers vibe! ❤️
I received an early release of this book from the Author Agency and Emi Leon. This review is voluntary and my opinions are my own.
What to expect:
*Steamy RomCom
*Second Chance After Divorce
*Women in STEM
*Age Gap
*Misguided Matchmaking
“I could never regret you, Hildy.” His Adam’s apple bobs. “I do regret a lot of things about our relationship but never you. Never you.”
I’m so glad I signed up for this book because I loved it so much. Second chance romance has always been a favorite of mine because both characters experience this pull, but try to ignore it because of the past. A lot of emotions comes with second chance and this book did it for me.
When both Hildy and Sam have to work with each other and their story progresses you can tell how much chemistry (pun intended) they have with each other. The desire to be with each other once again yet having to try to hold back. I loved everything about it. The quote I pulled out from the book is one of my favorites because a line like that will always get to me. If you’re like me and you love second chance romance with age gap then this book is perfect for you.
Ps. I didn’t know this was a part of a series, so I’ll definitely be going back to read the first two books.
Thank you so much to The Author Agency and Emi Leon for the review copy <3

Chemistry of the Heart is cute second chance rom com set in the world of pharmaceuticals with two ex's working together and a hint of espionage.
This story is a nice palette cleanser from the dark romances and fantasy books I've been reading lately. This is also the first story I've read that involves corporate espionage and pharmaceuticals.
I liked the MMC, Sam, instantly. He is endearing, an introvert, and a workaholic. He has a unique style and surprisingly a bit of d1rty talker. I had a bit of a hard time connecting with the FMC, Hildy, but once I did, I understood why she spoke to Sam the way she did. She also has a very strong personality and her own sense of style.
The mystery of the mole is an interesting concept. While I was able to guess who the mole is, I'm still not clear on the motivation. Also, the last scene, one of the side characters, Nate (whom I not a fan of), seem to recognize [spoiler]. The reader doesn't find out about Nate's reason. Hopefully, this is part of a cliff hanger for the next installment.
The miscommunication trope is very strong in this story. As the reader, we knew what happened in the past, but waiting for the MMC and FMC to just tell each other was frustrating. 😁 I'm just glad they get to have their HEA.
If you're in the mood for a second chance romance, give this installment of Romancing the Geek a read.
Thank you for the advanced review copy.
This book tied with the first in the series as my favorite. I loved finding out who the mole was and I'm terribly curious as to what is going to happen next with Nate. I'd been rooting for him and Zelda to get back together but after this last book, his name leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via Booksprout and am leaving this review of my own volition.

All Hindy has to work for 2 weeks in her old friend's "now boss" for a big pay and then she can move to New Zealand like she had planned to.
But to her dismay she has to act as Nate's aka her boss's fiancée and has to work with her ex-husband on a secret project but to also find out who is the mole who is leaking the Company's otherwise secret information.
Sam hates Hindy, hates for how she left him, hates how she did not try to solve things with him, but does that means he is not attracted to her anymore? NO
There is flames flying with turns from hate to lust to attraction again..
I loved the chemistry, the connection, I HATED THE MISCOMMUNICATION.. and I LOVED EVERYTIME HILDY TEASED SAM... it was chef's kiss...
