Oh man Sarah Bale has done it again! I absolutely devoured this book like every other book of hers I’ve read!It’s fast paced, you are hooked from the very first page and it’s set in Vegas baby!!!Alessandro 🥵 is our mafia boss and man does he know how to worship his woman!! When he decides Isa is going to be his 🥵 it’s done deal, nothing will stop him from getting her!Isa is amazing and strong, she has survived so much and doesn’t let that keep her down, she has the kinda strength I love in our FMCs!I loved getting some cameo of Jafar (mmm I just love that man) but I’m so obsessed with this series! I cannot wait to see what we get next!

Ten years ago, Alessandro met Isabetta by chance. Both felt an immediate connection, but as she was on the cusp of her 18th birthday, she was out of bounds and he was only in town briefly for business on behalf of the Defiant God Brotherhood, a secret society with immense power over decision-making in everything from the mafia (Alessandro is a mafia Don as well) to politics to Hollywood.

Present day, Alessandro (known as the Violent God) has just become an Elite Member, one of the five men who rule the Brotherhood, following the murder of the 5th Member. Alessandro never expected to be promoted this quickly and he’s not happy about it, especially as he’ll have to marry. His best friend Brooks, who’s next in line whenever another Member dies, takes Alessandro to a meeting with a man named Giosue who wants to join the Brotherhood. Giosue is rich, but needs his heiress fiancée’s money to afford membership. Alessandro is shocked to learn that fiancée is Isabetta, who’s been controlled by her abusive father her entire life and is being forced to marry Giosue. She has no idea that she’s to inherit a fortune on her wedding day. She’s always had problems standing up for herself but she finally finds her spine when she’s at the altar. At the same time, Alessandro unexpectedly shows up and marries her instead. While Alessandro hunts down the murderer stalking the Elite Members, he worries about keeping his new bride safe. Meanwhile, Isa wonders if she’s traded one cage for another. Will her father/Giosue let her go? Will she fit into Alessandro’s violent world? Can she ever love her husband?

I was so excited when I learned Sarah was writing a new series! She has a unique ability to blend dark and light and make the reader fall in love with men who are often more villain than morally gray (and who you really want to smack sometimes!). The women are always strong (even when they don’t think they are), the plots are always intricate and the smexy times are oh-so-seriously steamy. She already has me anxiously awaiting book 2. Even though we only got snippets of Brooks, I can tell I’ll love him.

Oh Bale!! Beautiful, creative, deviant Bale. What are you doing to me with these men of yours? I need to know!! Because I am head over heels in love with all things Alessandro. I was expecting this hard, brooding man that was possibly going to rival the likes of Jafar (if you haven’t read Jafar’s books you are doing yourself a disservice.) But really he was such a softie for his woman. And like instantly. I absolutely loved how he loved her. And not to lessen how Isabetta felt for him, because she was done for when it came to Alessandro. A beautifully paired couple in every way.

I flew through the story but was sadly disappointed at the end. Not at the story itself, silly. At myself. I hated I couldn’t pace myself and savor it longer. But with the writing as perfect as it was and the romance as delicious as Bale was putting out, I couldn’t help myself. I am a grown woman with no self control.

Violent God ended up being more than I could have hoped for. It was suspenseful, utterly intense, and had me glued to the pages. I wanted every secret I could pull from it. Obsessed. There. I said it. I was obsessed!! I need more and I need it now. 5 Stars.

I enjoyed Alessandro and Isabetta love story. Although she had to go through some things before reconnecting with Alessandro. This story has it all, laughter, intrigue, lots of spice and drama. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series to find out who is behind the mystery. Add this book to your TBR you will not be disappointed.

"Violent Gods" is such a great read that I finished it in two nights! Freaked out at the cameo of Malik Jafar to the subtle nod to Sarah's other book series, this book is a treat for fans. It's not required that you read the other books to enjoy this one, but Malik showing up in this book was really special.

The pace is relentless, keeping you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. I can't wait to delve into the stories of the other Brotherhood members.

Loved the wedding crashing scene, hooked me right from the beginning! Great book!
