Hunted: Magiford Supernatural City (Pack of Dawn and Destiny Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 7,112 ratings

Ever feel like you don’t belong? Try being a hunter living with werewolves. I’m the definition of “doesn’t fit in”. I’m not Pack, but I’m not the enemy, either.

I struggle to survive among werewolves who are stronger and faster than me, and are competitive enough to break a bone or two for the sake of “fun.”

Greyson, their alpha, is the worst of them all.

Endlessly relentless and twice as deadly, Greyson rules the Pack and expands its territory even though it’s already the largest in the region. I just wish he’d stop interfering with my life. He’s got enough trouble of his own with his incomplete mate bond, but he’s made it his hobby to tease and test me at every opportunity.

Doesn’t my life sound fun?

When wolves from surrounding packs start mindlessly attacking the innocent humans in our city, Timber Ridge, everything changes.

Werewolves don’t turn feral without reason. Which means someone is making this happen, and they’re targeting our Pack.

I don’t like where this is going, but how am I supposed to stop a feral wolf outbreak when I’m just one hunter? Can Greyson and I set aside our differences to see the Pack through this?

Hunted is the first book in the Pack of Dawn and Destiny urban fantasy trilogy and is part of the Magiford Supernatural City world. It features werewolves, hunters, and fae, and is filled with humor, adventure, and a sweet romance that will have you laughing out loud.

This story was action packed, making it a compulsively quick read. I loved the way the author portrayed the wolves and pack dynamics, and the pacing in this book was spot-on! I have high hopes that this trilogy won’t be the weak family-friendly approach to love and violence we’ve seen so far in Magiford. These are adult books with adult characters, right?

My opinions are based on reading books 1-7 in the Magiford universe.

This set of the Magiford series starts off a little slower than Hazel and Leila’s books did. I would also say that so far, Pip’s story is the least well written of the three. However, I thought the Hazel and Leila’s books were fantastic, which still leaves this one as a great read.

For parents: These books are very similar to the Tamora Pierce books I read as a kid. I think the perfect audience for these books would be somewhere in the 12-16 range. There is almost no physical romance (kissing/cuddling only) and the violence is limited in detail and not gory. The main focus of all the Magiford books is teamwork and family.

I’m way beyond the target audience in age and I typically read a much darker type of novel, but I do really enjoy these. Again, definitely gives me nostalgia for the books I read in middle school.

I really enjoy this author and her Magiford world, all the characters of every series are great and so well developed and the crossover are giggle worthy but you can read this series without the need to read Magic Forged or Crown of Shadow series BUT I highly recommend those as well. This book....Pip a Hunter (hunts werewolf and other supernaturals by trait and birth) is so straight forward and knows who she is (mostly) she isn't an airhead damsel in distress type (which drive me crazy) she's a dust yourself off and keep going type, she has heartaches and doubt but overall loves the werewolf pack she lives with, though she reluctantly admits because she doesn't feel like part of the pack (wolf pack) and the binds that tie them as a family/pack. The Alpha of the pack Greyson is level headed and strong as heck, he struggles to keep his alpha "powers" in check so he doesn't effect his pack's mood and behavior which is hard as he is so overwhelmingly strong. HIs relationship with Pip is awkward because though he doesn't dislike her, he know she's the reason he's there in this pack for his power and because of her which Pipi is not aware of as she also has abilities she's is unaware of so the story carries us through these characters, the wolf pack which also have great characters and the outside influence of bad wolf hunter family and a mysterious group that are trying to tear the wolf pack apart....let the games begin and continue, can't wait for the next books

I hardly ever write a review…and even the reviews I read I am always scared they aren’t real. This is real!
I have red COUNTLESS books…K. M. ashes beats them all! She is a word wizard! She doesn’t need foul language to make a scene deep or to show anger. She doesn’t need sex scenes to show spice or love interest. She can make me giddy and swoon as the characters keep their clothes on! This is a clean book with no language! But!! You will swoon! You will squeee with such sweet love stories. And her men characters…they are strong men! I love that K. M. SHEA shows that both the leading lady and the leading man can be strong. They don’t have to over power…they can support each other! I have laughed out loud sooooo many times with this book. And listen…she will set you up, you are laughing and having a great time…but she does not mess around with feelings, emotions or fight scenes! You are going to get the feels and be shocked and stunned of how realistic her action scenes are…and pretty hard core (but a good hard core because normally the guy you wish someone would hit…gets hit plus a little more!). Greyson and Pop…love love love. I am so excited to read the next books and see how ashes weaves another awesome love story. I have read 3 of her series…this is my 11th book from her and I will keep coming back. I pay for Kindle unlimited so I am spoiled to have her books so easily at my fingertips. But reading her books…I told my husband the other night…I also want the actual book. I must own them. Give her a shot. Read past the first chapters and dig in. You won’t be disappointed. You will swoon, squeeel, rage at the bad peeps, hurrah when the bad people get what was coming and rejoice at the love story all playing out with some great action scenes. This is not a boring writer! She just knows how to write without the cheap tricks other writers feel they must use to keep your attention. LOVE YOU, K. M. Shea!! 🥰😍🥰❤️

I just started reading K. M. Shea’s books and am officially a huge fan. The stories are well-constructed, the main characters are people that you root for and admire, the secondary characters are equally intriguing, and the world building is compelling. I love that her books convey romance, affection, and passion without the overly graphic details found in many current books - I personally prefer PG-13 because it focuses more on the people themselves, Luke the old Hitchcock movies where the action would cut away while showing fireworks over the water. Pip and Greyson are delightful, and the crossover to the Midnight Court is icing on the top. Read these books - you will not be disappointed.

Wow, what a great first book, i laughed out loud alot as i read this book, lots of humour in there, plus action and mystery, little of the fae Night Court included which was nice, but @ the head of it all is Pip, the wonderful kickass heroine of this series, who is big hearted, add in a powerful Alpha, mysterious magical happenings, of course lots of werewolves, friends, werewolves and more and you have a wonderful book.
