Since these are more like scissors, they do not depend on a spring to open them, and they do the same job as the snips. I keep a pair in the garage and 2 in the house.
Great for gardening and light pruning of roses. Extremely sharp and they stay that way even though cutting stuff that has basically rendered other scissors dull and useless. Not much sticks to them and if it does they come clean with a simple wipe of a cloth or paper towel ! Would definitely recommend purchasing them !!!

My husband lost my expensive pair of plant scissors, so I had to buy more. I decided on these because they come in a three pack and the price was reasonable and I wouldn't cry if my husband "borrows" them again and loses one. I use them for cutting off dead leaves and blooms on my house plants. I have not used them on really thick stems, so can't comment on how well they'd work on outdoor plants with really thick stems. They work with no problems on my geraniums.
These are great on house plants! I, also, have found the really pointy end works well for getting into and removing packaging on products I buy. I really think some diabolical people who hate humans design the packaging for products and spend their days laughing at the fights people have in trying to get their packaging opened! These scissors really help in winning the battles of the packaging!
