Old HomeLink mirror, new GDO? Just. Buy. This.
If you want to stop gritting your teeth and get your old(er) HomeLink mirror working with your new(er) garage door opener in 5 minutes so you can go and enjoy the rest of your day, just buy this for $33, follow easy programming instructions, mount the repeater in a good location near the GDO, then put the included learning button in a drawer somewhere. Life is short and the internet is a time suck.If you want a more greater range than this offers then you can opt for clipping the universal remote (like LiftMaster 893MAX) to your visor and continue to roll your eyes at your dead HomeLink mirror. If you want both then do both. The only reason I took off one star is that the device is big; it blocks TWO adjacent outlets on my powerstrip--albeit my powerstrip outlets are only spaced 1.5"--but still...for what it does it is a wide adapter by any standard.

Bought a rear view mirror with Homelink for my new maverick. It would not control my garage opener, so I thought I would try this bridge. It was easy to set up and after programming it to my opener, it works great. There is no loss of distance to communicate with my opener as some have reported. Love it.

Easy to install, allowed my 2007 Dodge Magnum to operate our new Chamberlain garage door openers ( I have two).

Program the car with a remote provided, then push the learn button on the opener, then push the button in the car a few times and you are done.

I'm about ready to return my Chamberlain opener and get something that is actually compatible with Homelink in my vehicles. This requirement of a "bridge" to try and make an opener work with the millions of older Homelink mirrors out there is just stupid and unnecessary. It's just another thing to go wrong and it does that a lot!

First, it limits the range compared to both the original remote and the Homelink range with my old opener. I used to be able to open my door from around the corner before it was even in sight, probably a good 300-400' away. Now, I'm lucky to get half that range and sometimes I have to be in my driveway. This would be frustrating enough if this was the only problem, but it's not. Occasionally this won't work while I'm in my driveway and even in my garage!! I've moved the "bridge" to different outlets throughout the garage and it doesn't help, it still intermittently just plain won't work.

I'm about fed up with this and will be looking for another opener that will work with my "ancient" 2010 vehicle with the old technology Homelink mirror! Ever heard of backwards compatible?? If you upgrade a product, at least let it work with the millions of old units out there!! This BS "bridge" is not good enough, there was nothing wrong with the way my old homelink mirror talked to my garage door opener from 2012, why "upgrade" it to this new technology?

Anyway, I'd avoid this product and any opener made by Chamberlain (Liftmaster, Craftsman) that requires this product if you actually want to be able to open your door with your Homelink mirror.

Anyone know of a good quiet opener that works with older Homelink mirrors? Let me know. Guess I'll be going back to Genie, hopefully their new ones are still compatible.

This bridge is a little pricey but is pretty simple to install and connect to both the car and garage door opener. It operates well and is consistent. The only complaint I have is that the range is pretty limited. I need to be near the garage door for it to operate. I could perhaps improve the range by lowering the bridge and/or moving it closer to the garage door, but haven't tried that yet.

This is a great fix for the older Homelink transmitters. I used a small outlet extension and plugged it in to the garage door outlet. This approach allowed the bridge to get power, and leave space for the door opener plug. Also, it helps promote great signal line of sight that’s free of blockage that the use of lower wall electrical receptacles will great for the bridge. Easy to set up, just follow the directions 😀

I was dismayed when I learned that my 2007 Lexus would not pair with a new garage door opener. I was told by a Lexus rep that cars made before 2011 would not be able to pair with the new garage door's technology without a HomeLink Compatibility Bridge, so I ordered this one from Amazon and it arrived two days later. When I went to plug the compatibility bridge into the same outlet used by my garage door opener, I found that the bridge could not be plugged into it due to the position of the prong holes on the outlet being inaccessible because the garage door opener power cord was in the way. Fortunately, I happened to have a 1-foot extension cable, so I plugged that into the remaining outlet and then plugged the free end of the cable into the compatibility bridge - problem solved! The instructions that accompanied the HomeLink Bridge were very easy to follow. I'm a 74 year old woman, so if you're a woman reading this, you can do it too. I'm so happy my car's HomeLink panel can now perform as in the past!

We purchased this to enable the built-in garage door buttons on our 2010 and 2012 Highlanders to function. It was relatively easy to install, although the setup is rather difficult and the unit only shuts the garage door about half the time. Interestingly it seems to open the garage door almost 100% of the time and it seems like it works best if you are a distance from the door and not directly under or near it. Overall, I expected it to work better, but it’s better than nothing and I keep one of the garage door openers in the car as a backup, which is sort of self defeating, since I bought this to eliminate having to carry the original garage door opener.

I have 2 cars with older Homelink systems built in that will not speak to my modern garage door heads. So I bought this product and voila now both cars open the garage doors. What's nice is that I can set up each garage door for any button. So both cars can open both doors individually.

The training is no different than how you set up your garage door opener now: use the provided new remote to train the car, press the train button on the garage door head and press the button in the car you just trained. The head learns the code magically via this product and the garage door opens.

The receiver has extremely poor sensitivity, you have to be pretty much right on top of it to pick up the signal from the in-car Homelink transmitter. Tried with with two different vehicles, both worked equally poorly. Not worth the hassle of returning, tossed it in the trash.
