About the Author
Jens Müller was born in Koblenz, Germany, in 1982 and studied graphic design. Recipient of numerous national and international design awards, he is creative director of Vista design studio in Düsseldorf and professor of corporate design at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Julius Wiedemann was born in Brazil, where he studied design and marketing, and has lived and worked in Japan, Germany, Spain, the United States and in the UK. He is a Senior Editor for Architecture, Design and Pop Culture at TASCHEN Publishing House, Chief Curator at www.domestika.org, and a member of the advisory board of German science magazine Science Notes. He has edited and co-authored over 100 books, is a regular, lecturer, contributor to magazines, and has been in the jury of several awards all over the world. Wiedemann’s publications have sold over 2 million copies worldwide, and among his most popular titles are History of Graphic Design, Jamie Hewlett, Information Graphics, Understanding the World, and the books about record covers and web design. I don't like logos with many colors, gradients. This book takes the simplicity back. Everything here is simple, scalable to small sizes and remarkable.
Also the categories the book have are extremely useful. Such as: shapes that complete each other, vertical lines, circles, monograms and so on. The categories are related to the challenges designers face when designing logos. Its easy to find right the kind of shape you need to inspire you.
The only real complain i have is with the size. The book is too huge. It should be 30% smaller and still show pretty well all of its content.
I get it. Its planned for being a table book. But its too cumbersome to use for research and to have on the top of your desk all day. So to me that defeats the purpose.
But the content is worth. Go get it.
Upon receiving it, I noticed the box it came in was a bit large for a book and.. I then understood why haha! This thing is massive and has quite the weight to match. I was shocked initially but the amount of valuable content-- from the different patterns and styles-- this book is worth it. The languages are split up nice and evenly among each other, making it a book absolutely filled with examples.
Be aware though that the examples are not a step-by-step break down of the process designers/studios/agencies used at the time to arrive at that specific design. The designs are displayed, along with what company they belong to, who designed them and in what year. Also has a few real-life applications and some brief history here and there. A really good book in my opinion. Recommend.

Everything is printed on great quality and weight of paper, and the print quality is excellent. It's an absolute joy to browse. The whole book is laid out excellently, and is really easy to navigate.
Unrelated to the contents and quality book itself, the corners of mine were a little bit smushed on delivery, so Amazon could do a better job at packaging these.
