I’m a ham radio operator and I use the 50 MHz band. This charger did not emit any radio frequency interference in my portable station in my RV. It is especially convenient to charge my LiFePO4 battery at the same time I’m using it to be on the air.
Plus, the Bluetooth status information is super nice to keep track of what the charger system is doing.
This Victron charger replaced a very RF-noisy cheap Chinese no-name charger. It’s everything I hoped it would be.

I really like this charger. It is fully configurable and it is easy to monitor what's going on and view charge history on your phone or computer using Bluetooth. I have it permanently mounted in my camper van and use it when solar is not producing sufficient output. It charges my 200 ah LIFEPO4 battery very predictably and then goes into maintenance mode keeping the battery full but providing output for power consumers such as the fridge.

The charger does not have a fan which I suppose would prevent IP67 certification. So, that's nice but it also does run very hot when actively charging. I have mounted it in a well ventilated spot yet it gets hot to the touch. It's not a real problem to me if it does not affect longevity. Nonetheless, I may just end up mounting an external fan to cool the unit when powered.

I live on a small island where low voltage and power outages are frequent, in part because, maintenance is not in the vocabulary. So in addition to a generator, I built a Li Iron Phosphate battery backup with a pure sine wave inverter for my office computer and internet. When we have power the Victron Energy Blue Smart IP67 17 amp charger quietly maintains my batteries and. When power becomes erratic my office is Totally unperturbed and runs for upwards of 6 hours with no beeping battery backups. No need to fire-up a generator, every time we go into low or no power mode.

This is marvelous solution and, in the long run, less expensive and aggravating than replacing said "beeping battery backups" that can and do fail at any time. The bluetooth interface allows me to monitor charging cycles and down the road, years from now, will alert me to maintenance issues.

Impact Battery, shipped almost immediately, kept me posted, and everything arrived withing 7 days... This is a very small island.

Overall it is a solid charge controller that seems like it will hold up in wet environments, however if you don’t need a marine environment charger save $100 and buy one of the just-as-capable AC charge controllers for $40 like the HTRC P20.

The reason for the 3 star rating is the marketing foolery with this product; the 8mages and descriptions in the Victron marketing shows the graphs and data collection that comes with the Victron Connect mobile app. We bought this controller specifically for the extended data tracking capabilities. Turns out the charging “graph” is a static graphic, not a real representation of the active charge cycle. It literally only tells you the device is in bulk, absorption, float, or storage stage. The lines are just a picture which is kind of deceptive. Why even show them?

Also the CSV export only exports. SINGLE ROW when a full charge cycle is complete. It does not record data in 30 second or even 5 minute intervals like true data tracking charge controllers.

For most people these are likely not an issue, but for our off grid product evaluations, data collection is critical. On to another charge tracking product for us.
