This is a great way to hold your carpenter pencil. It is magnetic therefore you can put in on your belt or anywhere. I like to put it on my t-shirt pocket or collar for ease of use as well as easy to locate. You can even use the magnet on areas like your metal toolbox , metal 2x4s , etc. I would definitely recommend to any woodworkers or carpenter pencil user. I put my Pica-Dry pencil on it sometimes. Another great option for carpenter pencils.
Thought it was silly at first, hooked clip on T shirt collar. In about 10 minutes I was trained to reach for it on my chest and put it back. I have worn out several pencils but the clip is intact and I NEVER lose pencils on a job now.
If you use a pencil when you build, I guarantee you lose your pencil. Never with this. I have given several of these away after someone sees me on a job site with it.
I love having a spot for my pencil all day on the job site, other than my pocket, but the rubber that hold the pencil breaks over time rendering it unless as seen in the attached video. This is my 3rd one. Both the others rubber snapped eventually. It would be a winner, and 5 stars for sure, if they figure out how to keep the pencil attached over time without the rubber breaking.

I like the handiness of the detachable pencil with one complaint. The clip isn't great for staying put when you pull the pencil off. Many times the clip comes off with the pencil. If it had an alligator clip, it would be much improved.
Nicely made and very convenient my friend is always losing his carpenters pencil when he’s doing the job. Now it never gets lost. Always attached to his bib coveralls. Pencil does not fall out of his pencil pocket any longer.
