Good value and perfect upgrade
I used this fan to fix my living-warm brand infrared heater. The original fan wore out after 2 years of use throwing the E1 code for air flow. The manufacturer did not have the OEM fan in stock. So after taking some measurements, I ordered this fan. I did have to drill 4 new holes and change the plug so I could plug it into the heater’s circuit board. But the end result is worth it. This fan pushes more air than OEM. Would definitely buy again.

This was my last ditch effort to fix our GE Opal 2.0 icemaker for the 5th time it seems. The old original fan still worked, but very hot air was coming out the back IMO. The ice maker would run for hours barely making ice, and frequently defrosting itself. Dust on the heat exchange radiator was not the problem. To see if it was overheating, I placed a small fan against the side of the unit, and I noticed it would make ice normally. I could not measure the RPM/airflow on the old fan, so I tried this new fan just for the heck of it. The airflow it creates is considerably stronger than the original 12v/.25a fan. The new fan is a tiny bit louder, but not very noticable over the compressor noise anyway. Our ice maker is back to cranking out ice, and seems almost better than when it was new.

The only small caveat was the small 2 pin connector plug seemed to have a slightly different clip style on the new fan. I was able to plug it in, but not really click it securely in place.

The fan on my GE Opal 2 icemaker died. Purchased this based on being the Amazon Choice. I installed the fan in about 15 minutes. I spliced the wires and capped them instead of taking the entire frame off the icemaker to get to the housing where the plug is in my model. Fan is louder than the stock fan. You can here it over the compressor when standing near the ice maker, but it's nothing given the noise when making ice and it is not noticeable over the compressor after six feet from the ice maker. It seems more powerful than the stock fan which might account for the sound. The ice production is like it was new or better than new in terms of speed.

This fan worked perfectly to replace the cooling fan in my Ivation portable ice maker. I had tried several others that were designed for use in computers, however, they did not move enough air and the machine would run too hot and not make ice. This fan appears to move just slightly more air than the original one did and is slightly quieter. Note, these are not silent or quiet by any means, but this one is not too loud either. The original fan had a very pronounced 'whirring' sound, which seemed to travel all over the house. This one also makes a somewhat similar sound, but it is not nearly as bad as the original.

These ice machines require fans that move a lot more air than the computer fans do. The original fan in mine was rated at 82 CFM, 12V DC and 0.25A, which was exactly what this one is rated and it appears to have been a perfect match. Machine works perfectly. The only complication I had, which has nothing to do with the fan, is that Ivation used a 3-prong plug instead of the 2-prong that is on this fan. They are exactly the same type of plug; just the difference in the number of pins. I just painstakingly released the pins from both plugs and then inserted them into the plug from my old fan and everything works fine. From my research on-line on this topic, it appeared that most of the ice makers use the 2-prong plugs, but Ivation used a 3-prong plug for some reason (the center pin is not used).

Hopefully the fan has a long life, but so far it's a winner!
