Gail Gibbons’s books are particularly accurate because she goes right to the source when researching a topic. She has been on the seventeenth floor of a skyscraper in progress, has spoken with truck drivers about the workings of their rigs, has dismantled every clock in her home, and would have donned scuba diving gear to research a sunken ship had the sea waters not been too turbulent. Gail says "I had a lot of ‘whys’ when I was a child. I guess I still do."

We garden. We invite our grandkids to explore all aspects of gardening to include mason bees for pollination and worms for health of soil including beneficial insects. This is a great book for 4-6 year olds and even for grandma!

This book is really perfect for my 4 year old grand daughter. It was part of a birthday "set" that included a sun hat, gardening gloves, and gardening tools . The book is colorful and informative without being text heavy.

The information in this book is straight out of a middle school life science class, yet it is presented in a more simplified manner. The illustrations help the child understand the plant parts. The information might even encourage the child to look for those parts on a plant in their own yard. Any inquisitive child should have the opportunity to see/hear/read this book!

This is a well written and illustrated book that details the life cycle process of a plant growing from seed to plant, hence the title. The pictures are large and colorful, and the sentences are short and concise-written so a young child can understand. I have used this book with pre-K and kindergarten students, and even 4th graders love it! Now my 14 month old loves to look at it. I would recommend!
