A good book for those new to the wellness journey

A good book for those new to the wellness journey
If you have never read a single book that discusses healthy lifestyle practices and how to do an elimination diet for inflammation, or addresses emotional regulation tools, then this is a good one for you. You don't need adrenal issues to benefit from this, because the truth is it doesn't matter what your diagnosis is if it's some chronic issue. If you feel like crap, it's probably because your diet is not supportive, your sleep is terrible, you're not getting enough time outside, you have emotional wounds from your past, your relationships aren't satisfying, and/or you hate your job (i.e. you're stressed out of your mind). In fact, she admits up front that you don't even need any testing to use this protocol and see results. "Diet and lifestyle are key to recovering from adrenal dysfunction". Actually, this is true for most things. I'm not sure if I agree with everything in the book (as an allopath) and the diet is incredibly restrictive, but I understand that if you're at rock bottom, you'll try anything, and it can't hurt to try. She also tries to sell you her products multiple times throughout the book, be forewarned. But I love her humor, I love that she's also a fan of LOTR and a fellow nerd, and I love how more than anything, she's trying to appeal to the aching heart of the reader with so many tools to start to process the hurt we all bring into our adulthood. I hope this book lands in the right hands, but for me, it was mostly a review, and that's good too, it doesn't hurt to have good advice repeated.

    Dr. Wentz has used her clinical training as a pharmacist to put together a go-to and easy to read book to help both males and females who have been struggling with either thyroid issues or confusing stress health challenges.
    She has scaffolded the research that she personally had to dig up to put together a health regime that addressed causative vectors of a challenging array of health issues. Dr. Wentz has had the courage to bridge current and historic research in both mainstream pharmaceutical medicine with a respectable and effective accompaniment of vitamins, herbs and life style changes to get to her own personal robust health regime.
    In a prior book called Hashimoto's Protocol she did a terrific job of helping people of either gender and any age move beyond mainstream medicine's attachment to simply treat thyroid challenges with various levels of T4 medication.
    With her most recent book, Adrenal Transformation Protocol she has closed the loop and woven effective support for both women and men for stress and thyroid issues into a less confusing and less test weary approach that individual with a bit of courage and common sense can navigate themselves.
    She recognizes that the constant barrage of environmental chemicals, noise, information stimulation overload and hormonal shifts experienced by both genders at various stages of age can be moved out from the sad umbrella of anti-depression medication and ineffective thyroid treatments into a comprehensible do-it-yourself-with dignity protocol. It's a terrific watershed in personal healthcare, and it's easily read by anyone regardless of age and educational background - it's just common sense and enjoyable narratives, examples and go-to information.

    I first heard of Isabella from Will Cole’s podcast and everything she was saying resonated so much with my experience of trying to recover from adrenal fatigue over the last five years or so that I had to buy the book even if I was skeptical about all the immediate 5-star reviews. (And the promise of healing in 4 weeks.)

    Let me tell you - the reviews are legit. This book is amazing.

    It’s a complete guide that focuses on more than just supplements (unfortunately a lot of integrative docs focus too much on this to the exclusion of other healing things like morning sunlight).

    She covers supplements, but also diet, lifestyle changes, thoughts, habits and a general approach to a balanced life, healing the constant overriding of our inner signals that often leads to adrenal fatigue in the first place.

    She explains WHY things are necessary, but not in overly scientific terminology that’s difficult to understand. I love this because I’m someone that likes to customize things, and you can only do that if you understand the why behind the what.

    It also means you don’t need every single supplement she recommends because you understand how to use food to fill that need instead.

    It also helps when you’re not feeling good. The other day I felt unwell, looked at her table of symptoms to figure out what might be imbalanced, made myself a smoothie with the nutrients she said were probably off, and immediately felt better!

    It’s just so incredibly wonderful to have this as a guidebook by my side to support my journey of healing. I’ve healed and relapsed several times over the years, but am very hopeful that with this book’s combination of helping me understand why I feel the way I do and the exact things to do to heal, that I will finally heal and get my life back.

    Anyone who’s skeptical, just buy the book. Take her advice. Dr. Wentz knows the way.

She shares what works and what doesn't work, and covers food, nutrients/supplements, infections, lifestyle and simple mind–body practices (like gratitude - known to increase oxytocin feel-good levels, breathing practices, and a beautiful mandala butterfly to color).

    She has an important section that really spoke to me: Saying No! And more valuable advice: give yourself more permission to do things you enjoy.

    This book has been in the top 100 books on all of Amazon since it launched, and was ranking number 28 a few days ago! So it's clearly speaking to people in need.

    I've struggled with my adrenals for years. When I first started following Dr. Wentz, I was interested in her "Hashimoto's Protocol" book. It has a section on healing the adrenals, which I followed. A couple years later, now, I find that I need to support my adrenals again. Just started reading this book, Adrenal Transformation Protocol, and can I just say "wow!". There is so much information, and so many tools and prompts to journal in here, it's absolutely amazing. I'm so excited to start this protocol asap! Thanks so much!

    I found this book very informative and it's really helped me to understand my body and it's immballaces, I have been following the protocol to heal myself and bring balance back into my life and I am certainly much improved. I recommend this book and advice you read it all and not skip any part to get the most benefit
