The book is great but the condition of the book received is not as described. It is said to be "Very Good" but it turned out to be worse than the "Good" ones I've bought or the worst amongst the used books I've ever bought. It was seriously torn at the inside of the back cover page, in addition the outside ones shown in the photo.

This book makes it exciting to think about food and how it’s connected to the human story and our world. I love how it presents the topic intellectually and visually. A great coffee table book! It will excite you and make you want to eat and appreciate food more deeply.

I LOVE DK books and have been building a collection of them for our homeschool library. This includes the fascinating history of lots of different foods and where they came from, how they are used, and more. Be aware if you are using this with children though, there are several illustrations/ works of art shown that depict men and women fully unclothed. I had to color in about a dozen pictures before I let my kids look at it.

Fun to read. Packed with information. A bit British centric but i can live with it. A bit lacking in describing the taste (flavor and texture).
