Average quality (wrong bit listed in instructions)

Average quality (wrong bit listed in instructions)
Quality is average- nothing bad.The instructions to install the vent cap list the wrong drillbit size. They state “ drill a 31/64” (one size below 1/2”)…. And push new van in.”31/64” is literally the outside diameter of the entire vent plug. By following the instructions, you would drill a hole that the vent would simply fall in. This would quickly ruin eight $35+ Gas’s can.A proper drillbit size should be 19/64” one size smaller than 5/16”I have included pictures to verify, that is why I gave one star review.

Back in the day you could put gas in your lawnmower or truck without being a NASA engineer! Simple design and easy to use. Less spillage than the new spouts!

Over all I’m happy with the spouts, but their are a few draw backs. I tried to put one on an older gas can (before the safety no spill stuff) and neither style spout cap would thread on my can. That being said I did put one on a newer safety style can, and it worked perfectly. Also the supplied nozzle caps aren’t that great, one is a flimsy and seems like it would break within the first year, and the other one just uses a a rubbery plastic string to keep from loosing it.

if you've tried to use one of the new environment friendly nozzles that come with gas cans these days, you know why this is needed. spill much much less with this nozzle than the contraption the can came with. It also came with multiple screw on caps to fit different cans. fit my cans perfectly.

Was hoping as simple as these were they would do the job. There is very small window of having them even a little to tight it rubs/smashes the cheap very thin rubber gasket and creates an opening for gas to leak out and if it not tight enough it does the same. Also the nozzle it a little small and has to be lined up perfectly with the opening of the gas can cause there not much of a lip between the cap they give you and the opening of you gas can so you have to hold it just right so it covers the opening while you perfectly tighten down the cap. If you swap the gasket out to a thicker rubber piece it does help these issues but I still sometimes get a leak. I have junked these and gone back to just using a funnel instead of these tubes and pouring the open gas can into the funnel.

The “fancy easy to use” spouts on new gas cans are a joke. They do not work and it takes three hands to lift the can and manipulate the spout. These are easy to install and fit perfectly. Great value and they make using the gas cans easy.

I suggest using a step drill bit to install the vents. They make a clean round hole and don’t leave any plastic shaving in the can.

Highly recommend
