Radically inclusive, informed by the best in biblical scholarship, and deeply respectful of children’s imagination & intelligence, God’s Stories as told by God’s Children is the storybook Bible you’ll wish you had when you were a kid.
Built for kids, trusted by parents
Created by The Bible for Normal People, you can be confident this children's Bible incorporates the best in biblical scholarship. We know the Bible is messy & complex, just like faith, so we created this easy Bible to help kids develop a faith that grows with them.
How is this book different from other Bibles for beginners?
Most beginner Bibles simplify the biblical narratives or leave out important details. God’s Stories respects the Bible’s complexity while making it accessible for kids & their adults.

The Bible is not weird

- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2025Absolutely fantastic. I've been waiting for a children's Bible explainer and this is exactly what my family needed. We love asking hard questions and this book does not shy away from the 'weird' and confusing aspects of the Bible. Well done, y'all!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2025Quality scholarship and intentionally unfundamentalist. Should lead to question asking and further inquiry rather than kids getting the "the Bible said it, I believe, that settles it" nonsense. Can't wait to let my nieces and nephew read this when they're older! Also quality book binding and even has a ribbon place marker.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2025Wonderful way to share the Bible with young people. It respects their curiosity and their ability to think.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2025This looks like a perfect family devotional bible with an introduction to context and history. I loved it.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2025We highly enjoy this Bible.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2025I was hoping this was going to be a book that would help give context and perspective to my young children instead right off the bat red flags started popping up for me. The Bible is weird?? Um no. Also no where in this introduction does it explain that the Bible is the WORD OF GOD. It just makes it sound like an old “weird” anthology.
Then it starts off talking about creation and how the world God created was a wasteland?
Idk but before I could get any further than these first few stories I knew it wasn’t a good fit for our family.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2025I have listened to the Bible for Normal People podcast for years and I've been reading the Bible with my 11-year-old autistic son in the evenings, so I thought this would be perfect. Some of it is over his head but he is very engaged by the style of it. I wish there had been a Bible story book like this when I was growing up. Highly recommend!
