For more than three decades, Eric M. Phillips has dedicated his efforts to advocating for individuals suffering from complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). Having experienced CRPS for more than 38 years and being an amputee for over 15 years, he understands the challenges and suffering that CRPS patients endure.
In his experience of living with CRPS for 38 years, he has identified the greatest obstacle as the limited knowledge and understanding of the disease among medical professionals and the public.
He believes that educating and increasing awareness about CRPS is crucial in ensuring patients receive the appropriate care and improve their quality of life.
Eric has been fortunate to have known and worked with both the late Doctor Hooshang Hooshmand and Doctor Alaa Abd-Elsayed over the years. Eric has been honored to have the opportunity to work with and learn from these two prominent physicians. Throughout his collaborations with these two remarkable physicians, CRPS awareness and education have been among his major goals.
Eric has been involved in the co-authoring and publishing of more than 20 medical articles, as well as co-authoring seven textbooks and authoring six textbooks specifically focused on complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).
Eric and his wife Mercedes are happily married and share a passion for traveling and spending quality time with their three children and two grandsons.
