Thor Holvila is from Sweden with both Finnish and Gaut descent and became interested in the local history that took place in the seas around the Scandinavian islands. He has researched and translated the Icelandic sagas and put enormous effort into bringing them together along a timeline to start the book series The Viking Sagas. As an artist, he works with ceramics, especially pots for bonsai. He is also a trained blacksmith and musician.
