The faeries and demons are at war. Faerie princess Lori runs away from her comfortable life. Demon commander Lephas is tasked with finding her and bringing her to the demon king. Add in a little bit of getting lost plus a pinch of forced proximity, and BAM! All the feels. And spice. But what will happen once Lephas brings his charge back to the demon kingdom?
OH. MY. GOODNESS! This book is AWESOME!! Who could have known that I’d laugh so hard at a c0ckbl0cking rabbit? Not me, that’s for sure! I don’t think I have ever wanted two characters to have a happy ending more than these two! We only get the HFN ending in this book because it’s only book 1 in the series, but I’m hoping to see more of their relationship in the coming books! Definitely run to read this series if you haven’t already!! The final 2 installments are releasing soon!! ❤️
I had heard great things about this series but kept pushing it back on my TBR list only because its a mile long already. But then I read an excerpt from another book and I absolutely had to bump this series up on my list.
While I really enjoy a good fantasy novel, I freaking love a great, dark, romance fantasy novel. This book is absolutely in the latter category for sure. It's dark, intense, emotional, everything I love and can't get enough of. The world building is phenomenal and the characters feel real and are so well developed.
Am I about to binge every book in the series in the next two weeks? Oh yes, absolutely. But I'll be enjoying every minute of it and impatiently waiting for more.
This was a fun fantasy read! I really enjoyed Lori’s confidence and optimism throughout this story. Lephas was a wonderful character and I enjoyed the banter between the two of them. This is an interesting world and I enjoyed the magic system a lot - even if we don’t know much about it yet
Overall this was a four star read for me. A good start to a series with engaging characters. This book had spicy moments throughout so overall three flames for spice
If you’re a fan of fantasy romance reads with fun characters, forced proximity, interesting world building and fun banter, then absolutely pick this one up
The surprise that he got when she was more than willing to go with them, and pretty much destroy her father for what he was doing to the demon population just because he could. He sent people out to have her pretty much killed even though those are his daughters out there. Instead of realizing that he was in the wrong the whole time he chooses to have one of them killed off, and double security to watch the eldest since he didn't think that she would stay after both her sister have left the castle for something different.
The faery king has his head too far up in the shadows to realize the amount of damage that he has done to not only his people, but to his daughters. Since they believed that the only way that they would be happy would be by running away from him and his paranoia. The love that the faery and the demon indulge in is pretty raw at the beginning and then blooms into something shyer and delicate when they hold each other in a dark cabin after some serious love making.
Overall, all the little details mentioned during the development of the plot definitely contributed to the flow of the story. I absolutely loved reading through this, and I am glad that the author sent me this as a gift it is 100% worth the read.

Lori wasn't spoilt or annoying or anything, and even though she was ill-equipped to deal with life outside a castle, she was still determined to do her best, which I really liked. And Lephas! Lephas is awesome. He seems kind of reserved at first, but he's such a perv and I love it!! Lori doesn't know what she's in for! (Hint: a lot of pleasure.)
There are some really heart-wrenching moments in this, along with all the beautiful smut, and one scene in particular gave me epic chills. I recommend this to anyone after a little fantasy with their romance, and anyone who loves a good old-fashioned romp in the woods!
It's got romance, it's got violence, death, forbidden romance, and a few steamy scenes.
The plot line was awesome, and for those who like a #shadowdaddy, it has one of them too ;)
I'm straight into the next book in the series. If you haven't read it, please do.
