Editorial Reviews

With Beatlemania and the British Invasion in full swing, the Rolling Stones were announced as "England's Newest Hit Makers." Released to coincide with their arrival in New York on June 1, 1964, where they began their first U.S. tour. Describing the album, Keith Richard said it "reflected what we used to play at the Crawdaddy - a regular diet of Jimmy Reed, Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters with some Slim Harpo. The album was the cream of the set." Available on 180-gram teal vinyl LP. Amazon Exclusive.

I’m amazed at how tight and fresh this music sounds! The Stones right out of the gate, running full steam. A genuine delight!

A classic and in mono sound that immerses you in the era where it was recorded.

England's Newest Hit Makers by The Rolling Stones is a classic album from the very beginning of their career. The songs are solid mid-sixties English blues covers. This album has been reviewed many times over many years, so there's no need for me to go into all that.
What I would like to review is this particular teal-colored reissue. Mine arrived in a fine-quality cover with a standard paper inner sleeve - not really the deluxe treatment. The record itself is dished enough that there is air under the edge all the way around when playing side one; when playing side two, I flattened it with a record weight which I don't normally use. The edge was sharper than I prefer, but not worse than has become common with modern records.
Soundwise, I was again disappointed. This appears to have been a well-mastered version, but the record itself is noisy. It sounds dirty on the lead-in, but cleaning it didn't help. It's just noisy. Additionally, there is considerable distortion on the second half of side two.
Overall, I think this could have been a nice package, but the disc I received was pressed poorly. It might be ok for a person with an entry level turntable who has low standards for their vinyl. For me, it was a bummer. Unfortunately, similar issues with other colored reissues were not resolved by exchanging them so I didn't bother this time. Instead, I got a standard black copy and it is great.

The Rolling Stones made songs and recorded records. They sang their songs on stages with big amplifiers and cool looking rock and roll guitars. They sang their songs all over the world. They are amazing. I wish I had the opportunity to travel back in time and meet them somehow. Wouldn't that be a cool adventure? Vinyl records like this one have grooves and we liked jamming to the grooviest of them. When water is wet that's how obvious it can be but three candles need not having a waster. But even whidth that said, I shout it out lout ROLLING STONES!!! Yeah.. I like them.

Decent recording for that era with space between the instruments. Nice set of good covers like King Bee, as well as a few originals.

tout est dans le titre, édition inutile , préférez les remasters de 2002.
le packaging est simpliste , seul éventuellement le support cd qui rappelle le vinyl peu faire paser la pillule
