“This woman possessed some kind of magic over me that I couldn’t understand, but I never wanted to end.”Billionaire CEO Alexander Wolfe has spent years putting in 120-hour weeks in the office and adding zeroes to his net worth. But lately, work has left him feeling burnt out and uninspired. Then he is given the chance to go head-to-head with a legendary corporate raider and the man he’d idolized his entire career. He seizes the opportunity, immediately jumping on a plane for Barbados to close the deal in person. If he’s successful, it’ll be the biggest win of his career. He had no way of knowing that meeting a mesmerizing beauty would have the power to derail everything... “Spending time with this man was easy but I had to force myself to remember that he was also actively trying to ruin my life. This would be a lot easier if he wasn’t so charming.”Calypso Sterling has no time for men who value her beauty over her intellect. Review

★★★★★ "One of the best books I've read so far this year. Lucy Eden was able to craft such a beautiful romance that dealt with difficult topics." - Bookish Realm Reviews

★★★★ "
Alex and Callie are so good together, if only they can overcome these not inconsiderable obstacles to find their happily ever after. With smart, witty banter, steamy goodness, and emotional highs and lows, this is a story of their journey to do just that. And you won't be disappointed. " - Melanie A. Smith, Author of The Safeguarded Heart Series

★★★★ "Lots of action, scandal, romance and heart!!" - The Guide to Romance Novels

★★★★★ "This review doesn't begin to touch the surface and depths of this story. It's actually a parallel love story between past, present and future love. It's beautifully told, and I greatly appreciated the author wanting to give her readers a satisfying and complete love story. I love this story from beginning to the very end. " - Rosie J., Goodreads Reviewer

I loved this storyline. It took me the longest (days) to finish reading when I usually would complete in a less than a day 😲.
Sometimes you may think you have it all and that's happiness, but it truly isn't, something is always missing 😔. The heart knows 🤔. Read as a powerful CEO finds his heart ♥️. Good read 😉.

I love stories that feature families who love each other and protect their legacies for future generations. Both main characters were legacy children trying to do right by their families business. I wonder if that’s why they fell so hard and fast for each other.

Callie was trying to show her dad that she was ready to be at the helm of the family’s hotel business while Alex was trying to buy the hotel from under them. They were enemies in business but kindred spirits in love. It made for a tense and sort of angsty read because I knew Callie and Alex would have to make some really hard choices.

The story flowed well and chemistry was palpable. These two had NO problem in the sex department just in the professional arena. I do wish it wasn’t insta-love because the physical part felt rushed.
Callie and Alex were likable characters so I was rooting for them to last.

The twist with the mom was both emotional and educational. It worked well within the love story. I’m glad I tried this book after hearing it from the audio in color Instagram. I really liked it.

Wow! My feelings were all in this story. I laughed, cried, and squirmed from the tender sexy times. This was a absolutely beautiful love story. Not just between Alex and Callie but also between her parents. So much of the story reminded me of me and my husband who is the love of my life and the keeper of my heart. I was joyful and sad for the pleasant surprise of Thinking Out Loud as Alex and Callie’s wedding song. That is me and husband’s song. We sang it to each other. My husband passed away suddenly 5 years ago after 24 years of marriage so hence the love stories in the book giving me great joy and great sorrow. Thanks Lucy for touching my soul with this one. I love all of Lucy’s books but this one just became my favorite. Until next time y’all happy reading.

In spite of the typos, I throughly enjoy this book. My Mon died of Alzheimer’s disease, which made this book more special to me. This is my 1st exposure to Ms. Eden’s work and I’m now following her and look forward to reading more.

Alex and Callie made me root for them from page one. I loved the closeness and support Callie had with her parents and I loved how invested in her life Alex was. It felt as if Callie had put a spell on him and he was helpless to resist her in every way. I'm a sucker for the man being crazy about the girl. That board room seen is a great example and it was hilarious. Lucy's books feel like a dream that you'd wish would come true for yourself. Highly recommend!

Lucy Eden is fast becoming one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. She spins these magical moments and connections so beautifully, the steam is binge-worthy and then the heart at the center of this story is just ... oomph. So a page turner and a tear jerker with a swoon thrown in ... really, who could ask for more??!

Alexander, or the Wolf as some call him, doesn't fail in his goals, conquering anything he sets his mind to. So, when tasked with visiting a former corporate raider known as the Closer that left the business world behind twenty years ago, he doesn't hesitate to pit his skills and determination against the legend. If he accomplishes his mission, it'll be the biggest accomplishment of his career, instantly catapulting him to the top. But he never expected to find something that would eclipse his work.

As is the case for the majority of people, there are two sides to Calypso (Callie), professional and personal, and they really couldn't be more different. One is fast paced whereas the other is leisurely, being on an island and all. Her focus is on her career, viewing intelligence as more valuable than the looks she had nothing to do with, and hoping she'll eventually meet a man who feels the same. When she meets a sexy stranger, she can't help but wonder if the two must remain divided or if she can have the best of both worlds.

Spending time together, the instant connection they'd felt deepens, growing stronger with every encounter, but can they merge their lives into one that allows them both to be happy and have what they need? Alexander knows being on the island feels like more than a business trip, but he isn't sure if it's everything he's imagining or he's just caught in the moment...not to mention the fact he's actually thinking about relaxing and not the million and one things he has to do for work.

Maybe they can help each other? Or is this just a temporary break in time before real life calls? But what happens when she realizes he's part of the company trying to buy out her dad and he discovers her connection to the unwilling to sell owner?

One-click now and follow along as two people meet and discover there's more to life than working, and that just maybe happily ever afters do exist. On a side note, I didn't care for the fact that when we have Alexander's internal thoughts, after seeing but not yet meeting Callie, that the not subtle invitation for dinner and more with the mother of the young boy he's befriended, a married woman no less, would be tempting if the kid wasn't there and he could stop thinking about the mystery woman, aka the heroine. Really? He would have been tempted by a married woman? That makes me question his integrity and, as it was only about five percent in, shadowed the rest of the story for me. I also didn't like that he let her touch his arm, with Callie off to the side as they'd both been checking each other out. No woman wants to see another woman touch the man she's eyeballing.- By Elizabeth

4.0 out of 5 stars Some pacing issues but good overall

I liked this novel, it was a little slow in places but the story was solid, but with some minor typos and errors in the 2nd half.
I wish the MMC had more to him, though. He wasn't a fully developed character.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing

I was so looking forward to a book written about Barbados. Unfortunately the whole thing turned out rather cliché. The only interesting thing was the Alzheimer’s of the mother. We had the usual running at the first sign of trouble instead of communicating, then we had the ridiculous friend betrayal and to top it all of the pregnancy with only girls thing. Alex is the CEO so there is no way his friend/employee can buy anything without his ok and if it happens he can cancel the purchase so that was silly. The dad was the Closer so with Alex in the photos it was all bluff, how did he fall for it? Secondly I found it frustrating when one of the protagonists has to quit their job to be happy. There are plenty of CEOs with a family. What was a good thing for her parents didn’t have to be a good thing for them. They could have organized it so that they took 1 month holidays in Barbados every year, he’s got a jet so they can go back often etc. Lastly I know the 4 girls was a joke but it felt flat.
