- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2024Having read Lamb of God I anticipated the author’s humor and he did not let down. I may have laughed out loud on a sold out flight on more than one occasion.
The story introduces us to flashy characters with varied views and relationships who are looking forward to some fun and relaxation on a private island. What ensues is a mind game of trust, murder, humor and sex. The characters must align and realign to attempt to survive and expose the killer, even if your lover has a frog in their throat.
It’s a fun read with plenty of twists and turns. This book is one of the few I didn’t leave for a future reader in my travels. The author made use of “futzing”…my family refused to believe futzing was a real word. Thank you to Anthony Harrington…I look forward to your next book and will continue my own daily futzing.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2024Leap of Faith was a great sequel to Lamb of God, expanding on the end of times. It had all of the comedy and gore and now I'm waiting for the third book of the trilogy.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2023Leap of Faith, the second in the Lamb of God series, is a comedy horror (or is that horror comedy) that continues with the end of world theme seen in its prequel, Lamb of God. Only this time rather than having a cute furry white lamb named Steve, Harrington chooses to place a slimy green, although probably still cute, frog at the forefront.
While there are references to Lamb of God that make the book a little more entertaining, it’s certainly not necessary to have read Lamb of God to understand this book. The references don’t even come until the latter half of the book, unless I happened to miss some in the first part. I do recommend you read the first in the series, well, first, though.
This book starts off a bit slower than Lamb of God. While Lamb of God got right into the action and kept the reader’s interest from the beginning, Leap of Faith didn’t grab my attention quite as well. It took me about a third of the book before it became a book I didn’t want to put down. The last 2/3s didn’t disappoint. That’s when the action really begins to take place and the story shines. So if you find yourself feeling the same, keep pushing through. It’s worth it.
Harrington’s cast of characters is an interesting mix of people from various walks of life that all happen to gather together in an isolated location and are forced to experience ungodly horrors. The horror in the story comes through without question. There are enough gory scenes to make Stephen King shudder. While there were comedic lines inserted throughout the book, they didn’t quite stand out as much as in Lamb of God. And one of the repeatedly used comedic lines requires the reader to have read Lamb of God to truly understand it.
All in all, a good book. While it did take me longer to get into this book, once the action started rolling, I was fully invested and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the book. I’m looking forward to the third installment of the Lamb of God trilogy.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2023I am completely blown away... this story kept me literally on the edge the entire book. Often times feeling a bit creeped out to even be alone in the house while reading it. I could picture this like my movie in my head the entire read and feel like I was watching my newest thriller series. I was truly sad when it ended...wish it could've continued. Highly recommend this book! You will not regret it. Best read I've had in a very long time!!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2024Okay, Chi-Chi is creepy, and I love it, and the ways he picked off people. I really enjoyed the ending, and will certainly read more.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2023This intelligently written horror-comedy had me laughing out loud. The pop culture references and the banter between the characters mixed in with the well-described gore made for an excellent read. I seriously cannot wait for what this author does next!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2023Now that I realize I started with book two, I’m dying to read book one! I have never laughed so much at something so horrifying. I both want to slap the author and high five him! Excuse me while I track down the first book!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2023Honestly, not my genre. But so well written! Author should write a romance!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly thrilling story!
The most enjoyable book I've read this year, and bear in mind I read a lot and the year is 75% gone!
Although it is billed as a sequel to the same author's Lamb Of God it is in no way necessary to have read that first (although you should read it anyway because it's great fun!) and this is a much darker, more horrific book altogether. But it is extremely well written, it cracks along at a terrific pace and even the more adult scenes are handled with some discretion. Add in a good smattering of jokes amidst the horror and it all makes for compulsive reading.
Only two points I would make though. This book is NOT for children or anyone of a narrow minded disposition and it does hold the door open for another in the series even though it makes perfect sense as a stand alone book. And, in any event, I can't wait for the next one to come along!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gruesome horror comedy
What the hell was that trippy mind bender! 🤣 Anthony M. Harrington has pulled another one out of the recesses of a clearly slightly unhinged mind with this gory horror comedy. Full of gross outs and laugh out loud one liners, the death count mounting with each page. Loved the tie ins back to The Lamb of God. I can't imagine where the sequel will take us, hard to believe it could get weirder or more gruesome, but I am sure it will! 😉 Easy 5 stars, a read which is far from comfortable and it was with almost a sigh of relief when it ends, but for all the right reasons! ❤️
