    SPOILER ALERT" Initially I was put off by too much description of for example, each item of clothing being chosen etc., Things like that. But then the meat of the story exploded! I felt I was in the middle of actual conflict as MJ took on the powers of China. Myself I'm originally from Australia, but now live in USA. I can confirm without going into detail, don't want to add too many spoilers, but I'll say this. My extended family all live in Australia and make no mistake, the Chinese are taking over down there. The goal is to dominate all free and productive countries, and using countries, shall I go out on a limb and say for example Mexico and our neighbors north, but especially our south of the border neighbors, and make no mistake, they are on a roll. As I read 'Threat From Within', I honestly felt I was part of it! I felt I was in the middle of a Vince Flynn or Ben Coes novel. Chris Hall is that good. I highly recommend the book to those who love the intrigue of the black ops world. Definitely a five * for me.

    Not sure what I was expecting since I didn’t read the first book, but I was not disappointed! Fast paced with some twists that hooked me to keep turning the page to see what was going to happen to MJ. Hope to read the first one soon before the 3rd book comes out. Thoroughly enjoyed this story!

    Hall’s first book America’s Game was entertaining and worth the read, but wasn’t anything spectacular in a genre full of great writers.
    However, it’s obvious from the start of Threat From Within that Hall is not satisfied with just being a good author. From the first chapter on, Hall shows the reader that he’s upped his game and wants to be one of the best.
    Action packed is an overused term, but this is certainly action driven. What sets it apart, is the story supports the action in a way that has you jumping from scene to scene and perspective to perspective without skipping a beat.
    At no point did I think, damn, they moved away from MJ to a secondary character and now I have to slog through a dozen pages to get back to the good part. Rather, it all combines to make one hell of a fun read.
    If Chris Hall has improved his story telling to this degree from the first to second book, the third installment should see him with the best of the best in the thriller game.
