I’d compare this to professional machines
I want to start off by saying I’m a professional heavy truck mechanic with thousands invested in mostly SnapOn tools. The trucks I work on do not require smoke testing for any issues so I haven’t had a need to buy a machine for work. That being said I drive a modified 2002 wrx turbo. As anyone with a turbo car knows, vacuum leaks are not fun. I couldn’t bring myself to spend $2k+ on a professional machine just for my car. So I ordered this guy.Follow the instructions. Add in the fluid level marble and fill up the fluid, hook it up to your car battery and turn it on, let it warm up. Hook up the air supply and boom you get smoke, I used the cone attachment to test my intake system at the air intake. In my opinion it shows the same level performance as a professional machine. I was able to effectively find my vacuum leak, fix it and then verify the leak is gone and no others are present.For the price you can’t beat it, paying a shop for a smoke test diag ranges from $50-$200 so having this machine for future diag is worth it. The container and materials themself are well made and I expect it to last along time. Would definitely recommend to the home mechanic and anyone with a turbo charged engine.
