Hawaiʻi is a primary site for development of herbicide-resistant corn seed and, until recently, was host to more experimental field trials of genetically engineered crops than anywhere else in the world. Dr. Brower effectively weaves together the story of this momentous struggle in Hawaii and the systemic forces (Hawaii and globally), which have made us so susceptible to such corporate abuse. This book is eye opening and approaches the issues we face with clarity, while providing a hopeful way forward in our power as a collective! The kind of truth telling we need now more than ever.
