I love the formula, ultra minimalistic, no BS, just what you need, a good physical sunscreen. Not to mention, it is highly rated by the EWG. In my search for other brands of safe sunscreen, I found this one and was hoping that it didn't leave my face as greasy. Since oil is not one of the first ingredients, I went ahead and purchased it. To put things into perspective, I have ethnic skin with yellow undertones and on the dry side, except the T-zone. I put a moderate amount of the sunscreen on half of my face to see the difference. It looks greasy, I guess this is something to be expected of most zinc based formulas. Had I not tried a few sunscreens by now, it would probably be a deal breaker, but I can deal with a bit of shine. As for the tint, it makes my tone a bit darker so I will be combining it with the Think Baby zinc to offset some of that tint. I probably won't be using it on a day I must wear make up because I don't use powders but I'm sure you could use one to mattify the oiliness. Due to the cost per ounce, I will definitely only be using it on my face.Bottom line, I think the formula is great, quite pricey for the amount you get, however. But it is one of the safest sunscreens on the market as of 2023. If you have concerns about esthetics, perhaps this is not your best option. And last but not least, please guys, do NOT rely solely on sunscreen for protection. I see so many people get this false sense of security when they wear sunscreen and go outdoors on a high UV index day and expect not to get burned whatsoever, especially considering they 1) did not apply enough product 2) did not reapply every two hours 3) did not minimize their UV exposure time, and 4) used other sun protective measurements such as clothing, hats, sun glasses. Every sunscreen I know states this on the back of their label.Enjoy your time outdoors, but please be careful and don't underestimate the damage that the sun can do to your skin. It's always easier to prevent than to cure/revert.

Wonderful! I have very dry sensitive, aging skin so I am VERY HAPPY to report this product is extremely user friendly for a customer with specific requirements to maintain skin health. I love the oily:greasy slick feel of this moisturizer. I couldn’t be more pleased with the color and pigmentation of this salve/screen. It functions as well or better than some of the best foundations and concealers I currently own. And rest assured, my current makeup inventory includes heavy hitters like Charlotte Tillbury, NARS, Dior, Lancome, Giorgio Armani, Westman Atelier, Milk, IT cosmetics, Bobbi Brown, Kosas, Ilia, and I use primers such as Smashbox, Tatcha, Dior, MAC Cosmetics, Estée Lauder, Glow Recipe, and Laura Mercier, to name a few. So I can cross reference Raw Elements to those products directly and quite literally, Bc every day I layer Raw Elements under or over or under and over any combination of those “prestige/high-end” products. And honestly, I am stunned to see that this sunscreen improves the look and feel of my beat face. Signicantly. Raw Elements gives my makeup a natural tone and glow, and it nurtured my skin underneath. It never breaks down my makeup and I find that VERY impressive and defiant to the laws of physics as I understand them. Most product would make my makeup streaky and blotchy. This formula is truly a holy grail for me. I slather Raw Elements on my face repeatedly throughout the day and I can honestly say I would be devastated if the product were discontinued. I’ve used it daily for 6 months now, and it has never done me anything but a kindness. The smell is literally rubbing off on me. I have no allergic reactions to report and no downsides to this product. I’ll say once again, I have VERY VERY sensitive skin. I am prone to acne and eczema and this paste gives my face neck and ears life! Not once have I had a sunburn breakout or rash. No perfume smell to irritate my nose and eyes either. Raw appears to be the real deal in my opinion and I will likely subscribe and save it on my amazon account Bc I am sold! Manufacturer, please DO NOT CHANGE THE FORMULA unless you are required to by law. Until then, 5 stars, thank you, and keep up the good work! I’m on my second order!❤️

Nice tint:
I love the slight tint it gives to my skin (I have light-medium olive skin). When I wear it, I’ve gotten probably about 3-4 compliments that I look healthy (my partner said I was looking really “good,” but I knew it was the sunscreen adding that extra oomph). By putting a little on top, it helped me to eliminate the white cast from my badger baby formula sunscreen that I was called ghostly for wearing by many people haha.

Expensive - biggest downside:
It does have good packaging and truly all-natural ingredients, but the price gets me. It’s so small (palm of hand) that it makes you want to use less because it should be conserved almost. But I don’t want to feel limited in the amount of sunscreen I use! I love the list of antioxidants but am thinking of switching to badger tinted sunscreen instead just to for go the price (but it's got fewer antioxidants variety, and I've read the badger tint is more pink and not good for olive tones, yikes—you get what you pay for!).
The first application I probably put on way too much (a good “size of the finger tip”-carving (3/4-1 tsp?). I couldn’t imagine how it lasted 2-3 months as some had said of regular use.
Still - this price beats the cost of some "high end" products which cost 30-40$, come in 1 oz tinctures, & promise the world

But this brings to my next point...

It’s Moisturizing but don’t use too much:
It is definitely moisturizing, but if you do what I did and go crazy, it just feels like it’s sitting on your face all day, waiting to rub it’s brown tint over anything you might contact with it (e.g. your hands, shoulder, pillows/furniture). If you want a sunscreen that totally “dries” on, then oil/wax sunscreens aren’t likely not for you, unless you don’t mind having minimal coverage (but people tend to not use enough when they apply!). The best thing to do is to apply is gradually in sections of your face, bit by bit. Don’t try to rub a chunk in because it would spread out quickly and you wouldn’t get full coverage, if that makes sense. Better to do more of a dotting method to make sure you use the proper amount. If you use the right amount, the moisturizing affect will last you the whole day, unlike many other cream-type of products. It even acts as a sort of makeup because it looks so good (I don’t usually wear foundation for practicality and skin health reasons, but I’m digging this!)

Comparison to other options:
If you need something to cover more than just the face I would try out Badger tinted which is less antioxidant ingredients but more affordable. Badger reviews sound like the tint is not as pretty either...but again, $$$.
If you don’t care about some preservatives, nor water-proofing and have fair skin, try badger Damascus Rose facial sunscreen. It runs off with water (e.g. if your eyes water into it) but goes on super dry because of the aloe/water/cetearyl alcohol-based formula. But I water-based formulas won’t be water-proof and will def contain preservatives which could impact slim microbiome.
PS one other plus: it doesn’t not run into eyes to cause burning like some water-soluble formulas do. I’ve used an oil-soluble for the eye area if using water-soluble for the rest of the face. Don’t ignore eyes for sun protection as people tend to when using SPF moisturizer!!)

Bottom line:
All in all, if it’s in your price range, 9/10 would recommend. It’s a little sticky especially if you use too much, but highly moisture-locking, gorgeous gorgeous tint, wonderful antioxidant ingredients, convenient and eco-friendly packaging (I think).

I plan to buy this again and attempt to pair it with badger tinted or another brand for the neck to make it last a bit longer. This is a high quality product so I want to keep using it, just the price gets me.

Bought this because it is tough to find a tinted SPF with quality, safe ingredients for a decent price. I think the price is great for the quality of ingredients! The product goes on fairly easily as it warms quickly once you get it on your fingers. I have fair skin and this tint is fine for the summer, but I can see it looking too tan for the winter. Once it settles I'd definitely set it with a powder (I just use arrowroot powder) because otherwise it feels greasy on your skin when you touch your face! It offers a nice tint that seems to help to even out redness. It doesn't really give too much coverage at all, but I knew that when buying! My only complaint is I wish there was a lighter shade available for winter months! The smell is a little earthy but didn't bother me and I did not notice the smell throughout the day. I will also be trying honest cc cream to compare which I like better, as this is another option with quality ingredients for a more affordable price, however, Raw Elements is definitely the winner for sustainability and packaging!
