"What I like about the anthology you're about to dig into is it does show the range of the genre, from full-out potty humor all the way to some slick and clever wordplay, from the bizarre to the parody, it's all in here. About the authors
Nikki Nelson-Hicks has been described by a fellow writer as "the unholy lovechild of Flannery O'Connor and H.P. Lovecraft".
She finds that amusing.
Paul has lived all over the country before settling in Appalachia over fifteen years ago with his wife Leslie and their son. He also has two adult children living in his native Pennsylvania. He is the author of numerous novels and collections and more on the way. Paul is a member of the Horror Writers Association, appearing on the panel for horror comedy at the 2021 Stoker Con. He has a dark and serious horror side, but he has also never answered the question, "Is everything a joke with you?" correctly once in his entire life.
John Baltisberger is an author of speculative and genre fiction that often focuses on Jewish Elements. Through his writing, he has explored themes of mysticism, faith, sin, and personal responsibility. He lives in Austin, TX with his wife and his daughter.
Though mostly known for his bizarre blend of Jewish mysticism and splatter, John defies being labeled under any one genre. His work has spanned extreme horror, urban fantasy, science fiction, cosmic horror, epic verse, and he has even written a guide for mindful meditation.
While relatively new to the writing community, (his first book was published in 2018) John has become known for his work in verse, having worked in both extremely short works and massive novella-length poetic epics. He continues to work to push himself to explore new avenues of expression and horror literature.
Michael Allen Rose is an award-winning author, musician, and performer based in Chicago, IL. He is the host of BizarroCon's Ultimate Bizarro Showdown, and releases industrial music under the pseudonym Flood Damage. His book Jurassichrist won the Wonderland Award for best bizarro novel of 2021, and many of his short stories have been published in such publications as Mighty In Sorrow, Bizarro Bizarro, The Magazine of Bizarro Fiction, and Kizuna: Fiction for Japan. He has been seen on stage at Chicago's famed Second City where he spent a year studying at the conservatory. Originally from the frozen wastes of North Dakota, Michael's plays have been produced in New York, Chicago, Portland, and other major cities. He loves cats and tea.

Kenzie Jennings is an English professor residing in the sweltering tourist pocket of central Florida. She is the author of the Splatterpunk Award nominated books Reception and Red Station (Death’s Head Press) as well as the collection Always Listen to Her Hurt under her imprint, Blistered Siren Press.
Once an operating room registered nurse, Bridgett Nelson so enjoyed playing with human organs, she decided to turn her macabre interest into a horror writing career. She loves bubble baths (because nothing says spooooky writer like orange-scented bubbles), hates not knowing what’s swimming in the water with her, lives for Halloween season (but loathes chainsaw-wielding dudes in haunted houses), adores her West Virginia University Mountaineers, is very pro-Oxford comma, and thinks bananas are absolutely disgusting.
She was a 2022 Michael Knost "Wings" award nominee, and won second place (out of fourteen contestants) in the '22 Gross-Out contest at KillerCon in Austin, Texas.
Bridgett's bestselling, two-time Splatterpunk Award nominated debut collection, A BOUQUET OF VISCERA, is available in all formats. She has also contributed to many anthologies, including DEAD & BLOATED by The Evil Cookie Publishing, A WOMAN UNBECOMING by Crone Girls Press, and the upcoming AMERICAN CANNIBAL by Maenad Press. When Edward Lee read her story "Giggly" which will be dropping soon, he said to her:
"Giggly kicked my ass. Outstanding job! I need therapy now."
Much more on the way in 2023!
More tidbits! Bridgett is a(n)…
HWA: WV Chapter co-chair. Editor. Audiobook proofer. Bookworm. Dog lover. Tarantula whisperer. Bra avoider. ENJF. Amaretto Sour obsessor.

And why not? Why not scream and laugh at the same time? Okay, maybe because you’ll feel even more guilty after, but we’re all friends here; nobody’s judging. We’re wired to laugh at gross stuff already, whether or not it’s a defense mechanism against our own certain mortality.
Psychology and philosophy aside, though, hey, sometimes it’s just funny. Sick, but funny. Funny, but sick. Tomayto, tomahto. Whatever the reason, here we are, and might as well embrace and roll with it.
Which is precisely what the authors in this oogy-hilarious anthology do, and they do it really freakin’ top-notch. (including, dare I say, that one chick I won’t name here because reasons; if she gets to go to KillerCon and do a reading, her story from this is the one she’s gonna read). From the intro -- don’t skip the intro, don’t you dare! -- throughout, it’s a wild, rude, raucous ride.
Whether it’s your cat catching something decidedly abnormal, adolescent body hair run amok, the grumpy lamentations of the overlooked, an endless killing spree of the unkillable, making a deal with a particularly crappy devil, an adorable little girl determined not to let anyone mess with her lemonade stand, a freaky late-night incident at a convenience store, some meta-splatter mayhem featuring many familiar names, awkward encounters with new neighbors, desperate gastrointestinal distress, romance gone all kinds of wrong, a series of the world’s worst Zoom meetings, unexpected male-enhancement side effects, or the annoyance of being a scary killer with a shy streak ...
Just get this book. Read it. Laugh. Groan, Snorfle. Gag. Have spontaneous snickering outbursts while being put off your lunch. Whether you’re ashamed of yourself after or not, trust me, you aren’t alone!
