- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2024Works. cheap and generated the same codes as my brothers wired one.
Using the app called "car scanner" from the play store with it. First one I tried.
Only thing I don't like is the app don't seem to store the codes to review later so I had to write them down but, that is the apps fault, and it may have that feature but I did not see it as I did not play with it very long.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2018This Foseal OBDII Scan Tool does exactly what it says - it plugs into the OBDII port in your vehicle, provides a private WiFi connection to your Smartphone, and allows you to use any of many compatible OBD apps to analyze vehicle data, performance stats, fault codes, and even (if the app allows) reset / clear errant fault codes (eg. O2 sensors in performance vehicles).
On my iPhone, using the outstanding OBD Fusion app, the Foseal scan tool connected quickly, showed all vehicle data, and allowed fault code resets as promised.
Of course - since this provides a private WiFi connection, if you want to watch vehicle performance while driving (RPMs, etc) then you won't have network connectivity for your other apps, streaming music, etc. This is just a limitation on how these WiFi scanners work. It's also why they are less-expensive and more reliable than their Bluetooth counterparts.
In my vehicle, there are 2 "OBDII" ports - one of them is a standard OBDII port, and the other is reserved for the proprietary manufacturer diagnostic harness. If your vehicle has more than one port, make sure you connect this to the correct OBDII port, or it will not connect (even if the light is powered on).
- Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2024You have to connect your wi/fi to the device to get it to work. Main problem is the apps Dont work in the background so if you use the phones gps you'll be missing some data.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2019I’m a DIY guy. 2008 Toyota 4Runner. This is a great product. Worked exactly how advertised. Saved me $2000 and I learned a TON about my vehicle in the process.
3rd party YouTube videos with this product on trouble shooting made this a breeze.
This does take willingness to learn, note taking, and reading if you want to use this as a DIY car mechanic tool. This is not a problem solver, it’s a tool. One of many you will need to work on your car
If you aren’t willing to do the mentioned above, this will most likely not save you any money
This was extremely easy to use, has a great user interface via the app. I did purchase the extras for my specific vehicle. Totally worth every penny.
Don’t bother spending extra money on a more expensive diagnostics tool unless you are getting the multi thousand dollar tools from snap on etc
- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2019Let me preface this review with 32 years of engineering experience, with a Masters degree in engineering, have taught college level engineering, and several years as a racing mechanic in my youth. Usually I am pleasantly surprised with something that works perfect, out of the box, especially if it is so well designed that do not even need the manual. Thus I am not too concerned when I need to read the manual or reach out for technical support on a device. How I rate a device depends a big part on both the usability AND the quality of support. In this case Foseal's support STINKS!!!!
My 2011 Dodge Charger, R/T, AWD, Hemi had a known issue. One, or more of the speed sensors were not working and the trouble code had been confirmed on my dash as well as confirmed on a professional mechanic's scanner. I have been looking for a less costly scanner that I could use on my smartphone or tablet. Foseal SEEMED to be a good choice based on the reviews. I was doubtful based on the price point but willing to give a try.....
The setup/install was NOT 100% plug and play but not too complex either. I did have to read the instructions though. I decided to use OBD Fusion and Car Scanner as the software interface on an iPhone 6 Plus. Once the device and my phone connected both apps displayed near real time "gauges" and such. I could see RPM, temps, speed, etc. Thus if that was all I wanted I would have been happy.
But most of us would expect, that if there was something wrong with the vehicle, it would let us know what the trouble code(s) was(were) and in, hopefully, semi-plain English. Instead this device, on BOTH apps gave my car a clean bill of health. WAIT...WHAT? This is why I decided to test this on my car...BEFORE I repaired it. My first thought was I needed to make parameter changes in the software. After two hours of research and several changes...still ZERO trouble codes, in both OBD Fusion and Car Scanner.
So I sent a polite request to Foseal's support email (could not find a number to call or chat) on 5/24/2019. I asked they help me determine why it gave me a "false positive" clean bill of health and assistance in trouble shooting it. I waited six days, checking both my inbox and Junk/span folders daily. ZERO RESPONSE. So I sent another email with the previous one included on 6/1/2019. In this email I gave them 48 hours to respond before I would give a negative review and request a refund. Today is 6/3/2019 and still no response.
Thus I give them a failing grade on both their device for its main purpose AND their WORTHLESS support.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2020The tool comes in a plain white box full of peanuts and provides installation and troubleshooting guides, as well as a mini-disc that I think should be placed in the CD-ROM drive (never tried it). These instructions are very useful to get the basic concepts of the initial setup. No problem at all. You need an Android smartphone or tablet to run the tool, any smartphone or tablet will do (even older ones will do). Basically, you plug it into the car's DLC port (below the dash), wait until the red light comes on, turn on Bluetooth, and search for devices. It should appear with some strange name or OBD scanner. To connect, enter the password 1,2,3,4 and that's it. simple. You need an app (this feature is only available on Android, not iOS!) to work properly. They recommended Torque Pro, which is what I can get for $4.99 (very worthwhile, the lite version is almost useless). Other applications can be used, but Torque is the best. After the application is running, enter the settings and configure the adapter. It will connect and start transmitting information from the vehicle's computer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Piece of Kit!
Did exactly what I wanted it to.
I have a 2007 VW Polo; recently the engine warning light came on. I was going to take the car to a garage but a friend suggested this. I purchased OBD Fusion (£8.99 from App Store - I use ios/iPhone 7).
Plugged device into OBD port (drivers side under dash). Connected to phone easily once I figured out the ignition key needed to be in the second position.
Diagnostics was quick to run; the fault code and corresponding explanation was quickly returned and I was able to quickly clear.
Excellent product and I would highly recommend; all in less than £25.00 (a fair bit cheaper than a visit to a garage I am sure!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Funziona!
