Mike McGeoy was born in Baltimore, and spent the first nine years of his young life living in Maryland and New York. At the age of ten he moved halfway across the world to Tel Aviv, Israel where he spent four years before moving to Sanitago, Chile where he graduated from the Nido de Aguilas International School. Upon returning to the US he settled in Southern California where he started college and eventually moved to the San Jose in Northern California where he received his BA in Advertising from San Jose State Univeristy. In 2021 He retired from the 'high-tech’ world where he had spent 35+ years in a variety of roles and disciplines.

At age 56 he made the decision to go back to school to become a therapist and completed his MA in Marital & Family Therapy from Western Seminary in San Jose, CA. He interned at the Christian Counseling Center in San Jose and saw clients as an Associate MFT until moving to Portland with his wife in November of 2022. Mike has been involved in many different church ministries over his 20+ years at WestGate Church in San Jose and now at Westside: A Jesus Church in Tigard, Oregon, but his heart is especially drawn to men’s ministries and pre-marital counseling.

Mike and his wife have three adult children, who all live in Oregon, and were blessed with their first grandchild in December of 2022! He is a 'sometimes' avid golfer, and enjoys building custom furniture in his ever-growing home workshop.

I knew Mike in Chile! We went to high school together, getting in trouble, golfing, and having fun, and this is a great little, easy to read book where Mike narrates his autobiography in a way that teaches us how to listen to God. It is hopeful, helpful, and can be read quickly. Buy a copy in paper, mark it up, and pass it on to someone you think could use it.

I myself have heard the Lord speak in many ways: by loving others, especially immigrants; by not passing up a chance to give to someone in need (for it may be an angel); through others; and in dreams. It's really kind of crazy. Mike touches on a lot of these different ways to hear from God and reminds us that he speaks through that still, small voice.

Great job, Mike! This book sounds just like you! And it was wild to read about two people I knew in your book.

I look forward to reading your next book.
