The level of professionalism and innovation shown by the world's greatest intelligence service is astounding. Shrouded in mystery and secrecy, The Mossad has established itself to be the most cutting edge and innovative intelligence service in the world, virtually unmatched. Israel's Spymasters have set such high standards for the art of espionage that all other western intelligence services look up to it for guidance and inspiration. Closely working with other major intelligence agencies around the world, Israel's Mossad was responsible for saving not just countless Israeli lives, but many lives of many other nations. The constant flow of real time vital intelligence from the Mossad station in Israel to the world's major cities, warns against potential terrorist attacks, thus helping those nations stay safe. No wonder the phony UN headed by the cronies that control it, namely arab countries and their liberal fanatical supporters hate Israel and the Mossad so much, cause they know its awesome power and importance of stopping the islamization of the West. Israel is like the antidote for the wicked plans of the muslim extremists to dominate the West. The Mossad cuts off the heads of the many snakes in the Muslim and Arab world before they would have enough power to bring about their terrible plans to reality. This book clearly demonstrates such examples, by showcasing the virtuosity of Israel Legendary Intelligence Agency. It provides examples from exclusive interviews with Mossad Agents, on some of the methods and characteristics that define the Mossad. You will find this book fascinating, entertaining and informative. Israel a tiny nation encircled by 22 Arab/Muslim countries that seek its destruction, still survives, and will continue to survive forever, thanks to its formidable secret service but most importantly because of the blessing that the God of Israel had blessed the Jewish People in the book of Genesis :" Those who will bless you will be blessed, and those who will curse you will be cursed"...one doesn't need to look to hard too see this blessing taking place, as the 22 arab countries are engulfed with their own civil wars and conflicts, while Israel is Protected under the Wings of the All Mighty, the God of Israel.

A very compelling read as it provides the stories behind the news stories. Easy to read and understand. Reader will come away impressed with Mossad, understand better the why of its approach and, albeit reluctantly, agree with its approach,

This is a truly amazing book. With input from Mossad agents, heads of the Mossad and Israeli leaders, this book tells the stories behind the stories of one of the best(by reputation) intelligence services in the world. What was most interesting is the authors dedicated equal time to their failures and to their successes.

From the birth of the state of Israel, through the six-day war, the Yom Kippur war, the raid on entebbe, the Palestinian Intefads, and the current events unfolding with Syria, North Korea and Iran, this exposes the way the Mossad undertook its missions - from identifying a mission, to selecting agents, to planning and rehearsing the actual undertakings, to their execution. Even though the government of Israel still sensors much of the media and information about their military and intelligence services, stories that have not been told were explained in detail. Names of agents who are still alive and in action were changed to keep them safe.

But, the book does not read like a non-fiction text. It reads like a novel. The book is well written, well researched. The stories are told in easy to understand and captivating ways. I strongly recommend this book - whether you are Zionist or Anti-Zionist; if you are passionate about the course of events in the middle east or not, it is very intriguing to understand how intelligence services operate within their country, in tandem with other countries and covertly.

I wasn't expecting the book to be without stains or scratches. It was like it was brand new

This is an interesting and engaging book. Written by an expert on espionage who served in the Knesset and as an advisor to Moshe Dayan and by a political reporter, the book recounts, in effect, the Mossad's greatest missions. So says the book's subtitle, but the book also recounts some embarrassments, some slipups and some tragedies (such as the death of the current prime minister's older brother at Entebbe).

Reviewers have commented on the quality of the writing. I had no problem with the writing (except for an occasional odd use of a preposition), but the potential reader should be aware of the fact that the book is replete with facts and their accumulated impact can take a toll on the reader's attention. In other words, this is a book that you need to read when you are fresh. It is a dense, journalistic account of a series of discrete actions, arranged chronologically (though some of the events overlap as, e.g., when multiple individuals are being sought by the Israeli security forces).

Each of the stories carries its own interest, but equally interesting are the overarching techniques used by the Mossad—stakeouts, walkthroughs, the introduction and extraction of agents, the use of credentials and disguises, multinational agents and weaponry.

Each reader will bring his or her own interests to the read. I was particularly interested in the Israeli reaction to Black September's murders at the Munich Olympics. All should be interested in their current interactions with Iran and its nuclear ambitions.

Bottom line: a dense but rewarding read that results in an appreciation for the nature of the Mossad, the personalities of its heads, their place within the Jewish state and their role in international affairs.

I had read about the capture of Eichmann by Israel and had a vague idea about Mossad. A second thought about such kind of a mission was enough to convince me that it’s definitely worth it to read this book. And man, I wasn’t disappointed! This is a classic book for all the spies, military, politics etc. kind of enthusiasts. The way the authors describe the secret Mossad missions makes it seriously interesting, holding your attention till the very end. Also, what’s great is that the authors provide quite a comprehensive history about the person(s) involved and how the situation had unfolded which ultimately led Mossad to intervene and take on that mission! Absolutely a wonderful book, would totally recommend it - I’m sure it would help the reader enhance his or her breadth (and/or depth) of knowledge, not only about Mossad, but Israel and Middle East in general. Amazing book!
