My son and I both screwed up changing the combination on the first go and now we have to go through hundreds of combinations (1000 total) to figure it out.Update we found a video that showed how to hack the lock quickly. I only red it as a zip tie so they're still functional, but the plastic breaks as you use it. It's already snapped in two places with normal use. The metal core is fine, just the case is snapping completely in two.

I would not trust this as a primary lock for extended periods of time, but its great for what it is. Which is a quick and easy lock to prevent someone easily riding off with your bike. It is fairly stiff and won't bend too easily but it works for me. You'd definitely need a tool to break it.

    I thought these would be more useful than they are. My plan was to loop it on my road bike and use it for roadside emergencies and urgencies. It's not strong enough to secure an expensive bike but likely strong enough to give you a couple minutes in a port-a-pottie. The primary limitation is that they are quite stiff. This makes them hang awkwardly on my bike. I sort of got around that by putting a zip tie on the end (which otherwise sticks out). A cool beans use is to provide extra security on my bike carrier. It works like a locking bungee cord.

Also, the lock mechanism is stiff and not easy to turn and that's not gonna work for my tween who is often in a rush to get on his scooter and go. By the way, side note, go to Youtube and you'll find instructions on how to easily crack the code on these zip-tie locks: maybe not an issue if you're just looking for a bit of security, but I think I'd rather find something that's secure and easy to use on a scooter, if there's such a lock.

    I was looking for a small lightweight bike lock that I would use on a bike trip to Europe. After searching many varieties, this one seem to fit the bill. You get 2 locks (one black, one red) with a three disk rotating combo that you can set.

    They are fairly small and thin, with plastic coating a thin metal strip. Feeding the strip through the gap and pulling, you can “click” the lock to the desired length. Given how thin they are, it’s not going to keep anyone from getting your bike if they want to. They can be cut quite easily. However, if you are at an open café or running in somewhere really quickly, I think these will work to prevent a walk away with your bike. I plan on using both in conjunction with a strong cable lock. I also wanted these to use for my backpack.

    Pros: Small, light, cheap, and easy to use and set the combination.

    Cons: Quite a weak bike/bag defence on their own and the small rotating combo wheels are sometimes hard to turn. They are quite short so you can’t wrap your bike around anything more than a stop sign post or other small diameter feature.
