Product Description
This unique kitchen workhorse is actually a premium full size toaster oven with a built-in AirFryer. That means it not only bakes, broils, and toasts, it also lets you airfry right inside the oven. Air frying, which uses powerful ultra-hot air, is a healthier way to prepare delicious fried favorites, from wings to fritters to fries to shrimp. And since toaster ovens stay on the countertop, this fryer doesn’t have to move back and forth, from cupboard to counter. Enjoy the crunch without the calories and messy cleanup, with the AirFryer Toaster Oven!

Dear reader, I was wrong. Turns out this is one of the most useful kitchen appliances I’ve ever bought. Here’s what I like:
- Cook times are incredibly short. This thing heats up quick and cooks fast. A 2 lbs bag of cauliflower florets is done in 25 minutes. A frozen pizza that would take 25-28 minutes in the big oven is done in 10-12 minutes.
- It’s incredibly helpful to have a second stove when cooking for a crowd.
-It’s the summer kitchen I’ve always wanted. It doesn’t heat the house up like the big stove, and if necessary I can plug it in outside so the kitchen is not heated at all.
What I don’t like:
- Questionable durability. My first one broke in less than a year. The broiler functions stopped working and I was able to return it. I tried a cheaper replacement but it was terrible - slow, uneven cooking. So I got another one of these.
This is very basic technology, and if they built it to last I’d have no complaints. Plus, it’d be better for the environment.
Overall, though, it’s great. I use it at least four nights a week. If you’re on the fence go ahead and buy it. You won’t regret it.
Update April 2021: Bought a replacement on Amazon in July 2020. By April 2021 the function knob failed on the new unit. Waiting to hear back from Cuisinart on a possible replacement, but these are clearly not designed for use in a busy family. They are too expensive to have to replace every 9 to 12 months, and the cost difference between a a cheap selector knob and a quality selector knob can't be more than a few dollars for the volume a large company like Cuisinart is buying. Is doubly disappointing as we typically just leave it on the convect bake feature - the function knob doesn't even see much use.
I was very concerned, also, about all the commentary about it being too hot -- both to the touch and also that it was scorching people's food to a crisp. I have been using it for a few weeks now and I can report that it does not get any hotter to the touch than my old toaster oven and maybe is a little less hot so far because this one cooks things faster than my old Cuisinart and so it's heating for a shorter time. This is comforting because I have a tween using it regularly.
ALSO, to resolve the problem people seem to have with it burning their food I have just kicked down the temperature by 25-degrees with everything to see how it does. So far it is doing fine with that adjustment -- nothing has burned and everything has been cooked through.
Overall, this unit really saves me some cooking time so far, which is invaluable. I have used all of the cook-type options with excellent results. I was a little disappointed that the size inside is still small compared to the Ninja XL, so that is limiting. And, I have gotten used to the look of it on my countertop, although it is bulking and basically looks like I have a miniature oven on top of the counter. However, it works very well so far.
Unfortunately, the top and side exterior of the Chefman got much hotter (130 - 160 deg. vs. 80-90 deg.), and the control knobs became uncomfortably hot while in operation. The deal breaker was that a combination of large size and limited power affected toasting. By the time the toast was browned (7'30"), it was also baked hard inside. The two timers were similarly accurate, and each has similar features.
Since I don't want to have a pop up toaster in addition to this unit, I chose to go with the more powerful Cuisinart, which toasted faster (4'20") and yielded a crisp outside and a chewy interior. When I cooked frozen pizzas, they were done in less time than my full size oven requires to preheat. The extra power also makes a crust crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. If your application does not rely on toasting, or if you prefer your toast crunchy throughout, the Chefman is a good option.
Other than toasting, I'm finding the convection bake function is much hotter than you might expect. My chicken thighs came out a bit darker than I prefer, but they were crispy and delicious. When I tried to make sweet potato fries following the included cookbook, they turned dark brown before getting crispy. I think that may be correctable by using a lower temperature when air frying.
In summary, this is a powerful, nicely made unit. You should definitely allow some clearance behind, but the top and sides stay cooler than I expected. The extra power demands respect and caution when you try a recipe for the first time, especially if you use the convection bake. I haven't tried anything critical on normal bake setting, so I can't comment on the temperature control.

You do have to be careful with the dials if the time has not run out before your finished just leave the oven door open and the timer will continue to count down. Like the reviews online dont turn the timer dials back by hand because you could snap the dial off. That is a small price to pay for such a great appliance. I read the reviews before I decided on this appliance and it is everything and more happy with my purchase.
Cooks fairly evenly.
