Jane Reyes has a troubled past. No one knows what happened to Jane three years ago when she was 18. She has no memory of what happened. Yet she remembers to keep her mouth shut if she ever did figure it out.

As years pass by she doesn’t talk to anyone anymore. She promised herself she would never speak again until she finally figured out what happened to her.

But one day she gets out of class and is faced with dark hazel eyes, silky brown hair, tan skin with bulging muscles, and a gaze so heated it burns your soul.

But something about him is familiar to Jane.

How could Jane and Rowan be so connected to the point where Jane feels deja vu around him?

Bodyguard x mafia princess
☆ 4/5 & 2/5 spice Please check trigger warning/content warning before reading! A dark, compelling, and interesting book. Right off the bat, the first couple pages are a bit hard to read. Jane is a resilient, feisty, and strong-headed FMC. She experiences a traumatic event, which renders Jane not to speak to anyone. Jane is the sweetest, I love seeing her interactions with the kiddos at the teaching center. After the traumatic event, Jane’s parents decides to hire Rowan, who becomes Jane’s new bodyguard. Rowan is as you would expect with any bodyguard in the mafia. He’s a possessive alpha, who begins to develop feelings for Jane. He literally becomes obsessed with Jane, falling head over heels for her. It made me smile in the beginning whenever Rowan would take Jane to the ice cream store to try and calm her down, when she was being agitated with him. From the way Rowan was protective over Jane, their relationship evolving, and the way he helps her heal and gain some confidence back made me feel all sorts of emotion. Tropes: ❥ Dark romance ❥ Mafia ❥ Bodyguard x mafia princess ❥ Posessive alpha MMC ❥ Found family ❥ Mute representation ❥ Resilient FMC

over all the books was great. easy reading so it it is great change from some books.

This book was soo good. I was instantly captivated and I could not put the book down. The FMC, Jane had as very traumatic event happen to her and she no longer speaks. She asks her father to move to Italy to get away from the place that reminds her of what happened. Jane stopped talking shortly after the event. She now works in a school with other students that are deaf/mute. Her father forces her to take the bodyguard he hired, Rowan, to keep her safe. (Her dad is a Don) Rowan, taking his job very seriously, has decided he wants to help her talk again.

The love story here was so cute. I love that Rowan takes Jane out of her comfort zone. He pushes her and she needs that push. He doesn't see the broken and fragile Jane that everyone says she is. Rowan sees a fighter, he sees the spark that she used to have. I loved watching Jane become more and more confident around Rowan, which eventually leads to her being comfortable again around her friends and family.

Omg such a good book I love it. The plot was awesome and the ending is super cute and sweet.

That was a bittersweet story, focused mainly on the fmc's nightmares of the past and the gradual retention of her strength. Rowan's and Jane's relationship had so many turns and a hefty amount of banter, but in the end, it acted as their salvation.

Their relationship passed majorly through a fake-hate state that involved so much irritation and arguments. However, once the heat bloomed there wasn't turning back. It grew fast to an invincible fire, burning any obstacles in its way.

The book was advertised as a very dark romance, but as a dark romance reader, I only considered it dark toward the end. There are of course some traumatic experiences stated in the book, but those are described briefly and with a lack of detail. Perhaps, the book can be a good introduction to dark romance.
