Helped calm symptoms on really bad allergy days
My whole family has used Boiron products for many years with really terrific results. AllergyCalm is a new to us so we tried it during what has been a truly awful Spring full of pollen and allergies.In full disclosure, our allergies are pretty intense so we use otc nasal sprays like fluticasone daily. But we still get symptoms on high pollen days and it’s not like you can take more fluticasone when your symptoms break through…plus, we really don’t want to add in tablets that make you drowsy and feel drugged-up. So, this time we tried adding in AllergyCalm because it has no known drug interactions and wasn’t going to make us groggy.After the initial dose (5 pellets, 4x over the 1st hr) our eyes stopped watering and there was no sneezing. I was really surprised and impressed. We didn’t even need to continue dosing after that. Instead we waited for the next time our symptoms broke through, which was at an outdoor art festival around a lot of trees and grass. Soon after, the symptoms subsided pretty quickly again, which doesn’t usually happen once our eyes start getting the full impact of the pollen. In fact, my husband usually has to lay down because his eyes water and itch so much, but he was able to continue to stay out and enjoy the day.Only complaint––I have used their pellets before (Arnica) and don’t have an issue with them, but I would imagine it might be easier to buy AllergyCalm in the melt-away tablet form. When we re-purchase these I think that’s what we’ll try next.
