Suck Less at Love: She Said, He Said Advice on Relationships (The Suck Less Series) Paperback – May 27, 2024
Purchase options and add-ons
Life is hard, but love doesn't have to be. While becoming a superstar at relationships IS hard, everyone can benefit from making adjustments to suck less at love and relationships. This snarky self-help book provides inspirational advice about relationships from a woman’s perspective, but it also provides blunt this-is-how-it-is advice straight from the lips of a man’s man.
By inviting her unwilling husband to be interviewed at the end of each chapter, Lewis paints a full picture of each relationship issue from both sides. With splashes of humor and honesty, this book helps readers reflect on their own love lives and guides them to help them suck less at love.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2024This book is the first self-help book I’ve read and was skeptical at first but had been referred to it by a friend. The more I got into the book, the more I started to take the advice to heart.
What I found most interesting was realizing that some of the issues in my marriage were caused by how I was communicating with my husband. When I started to change my behavior and attitude, some of the issues in my marriage started to resolve.
The author’s husband’s perspective also helped to give the book’s advice credibility, and I found it very much NOT like what I assumed self help would read like. The book was funny, something I hadn’t anticipated. A great advice book!

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2024I really loved the content in this book! It’s an easy read with a lot of great humor! I especially loved how it referenced real-life experiences like trying to fix someone and how important it is to have the must-have, must-not-have, and nice-to-have lists and the neutrality that these lists should be made in. This book was filled with a lot of great ideas and tools, and I appreciated how communication was the theme in much of the content. It was fun to see the how the advice followed along with the evolution of the author's relationship with her significant other. I definitively recommend this great read !!! ABSOLUTELY LOVED!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2024Cyndi Lewis proves that you don't need a PhD to be an expert on relationships. On like other self-help books, Suck Less at Love feels like your best friend is finally being honest with you and tells you the truth you need to hear. To be honest I didn't think I sucked at love but after reading this book, I saw areas that I will be working and appreciated the time to reflect on my relationship as I read this book.
Even the cat I was cat-sitting for wanted to learn how to suck less for when her owners returned.

Images in this review - Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2024I don’t read many books, especially self-help books, but a friend recommended it because she said it helped her to break some of her destructive patterns in her relationships. It was really well written, funny, and I liked the fact that it was based in a real life success story instead of theoretical advice. Everyone should pick this book up because there’s great advice to help people at all stages of their relationships. It makes you think, and sometimes we need that third party to help us see something differently.

This self help book provides insights from both female and male perspectives. The interviews included in the book are particularly compelling as they offer dual view points on various relationship issues. The author comprehensively addresses numerous topics , such as communication, trust , conflict resolution and maintaining passion within a relationship. The advice is presented with numerous yet relatable tone. The author uses personal anecdotes and real -life experiences to effectively illustrate her points. I found the content highly engaging and look forward to the second book in the series.
