“Bound to be Boundless,” by Blessing Adogame, tells the story of a young person dealing with a myriad of trials and tribulations, the sum of which some people may not experience in their entire lifetime.

Reading through each chapter, I felt a growing appreciation for the vulnerability that the author displays. It takes a great courage not only to acknowledge one’s darkest moments, but to put them to ink and bare them for the world to observe.

What I enjoyed most, and thought to be most inspiring, is that Blessing encapsulates each chapter with a moment to “receive and reflect.” She shares her thoughts on how she uses each lesson or event in her life to grow and push further into the person that she has become today. These prompts are also meant to encourage the reader to pause and perform introspection on their own state of mind.

After finishing “Bound to Be Boundless,” even though our backgrounds are completely different, I find myself carrying a few of Blessing’s words of encouragement in my mind. This book is a must-read for anyone looking for a fresh perspective on life, or if you’re just curious about what the world is like through the eyes of someone who grew up across four different cultures.

You are in a for an experience once you pick up this book. One thing you’d learn is to embrace all aspects of your journey especially those that may not seem like assets. Blessing learned the value of becoming a global citizen through her life experiences on several continents.
