Dr. Sands is a highly accomplished professional with over 30 years of experience in managerial and leadership roles within various Fortune-sized companies, such as Providence Health & Services, UnitedHealth Group, Kaiser Permanente, PacifiCare Health Systems, ING Financial Partners, MassMutual, and Vulcan Materials Company. Since 2001, Dr. Sands has primarily focused on the healthcare sector, where he has consistently demonstrated his prowess in business transformation, cost reduction, operational efficiency improvement, and implementation of cutting-edge technology.

Education:

Dr. Sands holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Management from Walden University, with a focus on Leadership and Organizational Change. His published doctoral dissertation, "Sands, R. J. (2015). When does Six Sigma Reduce Defects and Increase Efficiencies?", highlights his research on Six Sigma. He earned his Masters of Business Administration and Bachelors of Science in Management degrees from Pepperdine University. Dr. Sands further expanded his knowledge by obtaining a Masters Certificate in Lean Six Sigma with an emphasis in Healthcare from Villanova University, where he also completed a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification. He achieved his Certification as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from UnitedHealth Group.
