HARNESS THE POWER OF YOUR HEART TO TRANSFORM THE WAY YOU LIVE, LOVE, AND LEAD

Leaders are tired and don’t know what to do about it. For far too long, they’ve built their lives and work around some version of the same message, “Get up, get out there, and deliver results.” No matter how hard they try, it is never enough — they are never enough. It’s exhausting, but what if it doesn’t have to be?

Fighting for Heart shows leaders how to harness the power of their hearts to transform the way they live, love, and lead.
Drawing on his extensive research and experience working with high-capacity leaders, Dr. Rob Murray offers individuals, teams, and organizations a practical roadmap for recovering their hearts using the Heart-Engaged EQ System.

The Heart-Engaged EQ System will help leaders integrate their head (IQ) with their heart (EQ) to create lasting transformation, deepen their connection with themselves and others for greater effectiveness, and embrace their meaning and purpose to effect positive change.

Whether you are interested in this book for yourself or your organization, you will not find a more approachable and accessible path for living, loving, and leading with more heart. Get it now.

Rob Hands You The Keys

Rob Hands You The Keys
Have you ever been with a friend who just bought a car or house and is excited to show you all its features? Now imagine that, after showing you around with a 'just wait there's more!' enthusiasm, that at the end of the tour, they hand you a set of keys of your own. They want you to not only learn about it but they want you to experience the same thrill and adventure of ownership. That's how I experienced reading Dr. Robert Murray's new book, Fighting for Heart. As Rob leads you through the wonderment of exploring his own journey of showing up to his life and exploring the full aspects of his heart in his marriage, family, business, friendships, the book feels like an exploration of that new house or car - understanding how all of your heart works under the hood and how it all fits together with how you show up to every conversation. Yet Rob doesn't stop there - he hands you keys to show up to your heart and your life with a level of emotional intelligence that goes beyond just a score from a test. I was reading it on a recent flight, and the person next to me said, 'wow, you must love that book with how many notes you are taking.' He and I talked about what it means to show up to your life with your whole self - bringing vulnerability to work and both the challenges and the freedoms that come with doing that. I'm exploring adding an operating system into my business so we gain traction in our growth, but equally important is a human operating system. That's what Rob guides you through in his story. I am fortunate to have sat around the table with Rob on countless occasions, and I'm grateful for how he not only fights for his heart, but in turn, is fighting for mine too, and the hearts of those around him. I look forward to referencing this book for a while to come. How do you show up with your whole self (and allow others to do the same) around your dinner table? Your boardroom? Here's to the next step to keep fighting and keep showing up.

I recently had the pleasure of reading "Fighting For Heart: How emotional intelligence can transform the way you live, love, and lead" and I must say, it was an incredible read. The author, Dr. Rob Murray, has a unique way of explaining the concept of emotional intelligence and how it can positively impact various areas of our lives.

One of the things I appreciated about the book was how practical it was. Murray didn't just talk about emotional intelligence in theory; he provided actionable steps and exercises that readers can use to develop their own emotional intelligence. From journaling prompts to breathing exercises, there's something for everyone.

Another thing I enjoyed was how the book wasn't just focused on one area of life. Murray provides examples of how emotional intelligence can improve relationships, work life, and even overall health and well-being. It's truly a comprehensive guide that can help anyone looking to improve their emotional intelligence.

Overall, "Fighting For Heart" is a well-written, informative, and practical book that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their emotional intelligence. Whether you're a seasoned self-help reader or just starting out, this book is definitely worth checking out.

My friend Jake recommended that I check out Murray's books, so I decided to buy the newest one from Amazon.

After reading the first few chapters here is my take.
Fighting for Heart is for leaders and individuals who are seriously interested in growing their EQ. So: Are you willing to look within? Are you willing to learn how to feel your feelings? To connect with your heart and emotions. Then you’ll love this book.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for breezy concepts and easy-to-implement strategies, I don’t think this resource is for you. Becoming more emotionally intelligent takes more than just reading a book. It means wrestling with these teachings and putting them into practice in the messy situations of your real life.

As a leadership coach, I believe empathy / EQ is the trait that separates “okay” leaders from GREAT leaders. So, it probably goes without saying which option I would recommend.

I’ve done some of this work myself, and I can testify that it’s worth every bit of effort. If you’re up for the challenge of connecting with yourself at a deeper heart level, you’ll be grateful for this resource.

I've been through in person training with Rob Murray and I've read all of his books thus far. I've used the lessons in this book and his previous training to create what I believe to be the best workplace culture that I or any of my employees have seen. Typically, employers focus on technical skill training but ignore the rest of the person which is a mistake. I've had employees that have said that working with us has saved their marriages and that is partly the result of Rob's message. That leads to the next part which is my own marriage is better because of this information. Life, work, stress, etc is all easier when your marriage is strong. Thank you Rob for the work you do.

Dr. Rob Murray has masterfully captured & communicated the valuable potential of the hidden super power of the modern leader; the heart. With thoughtful anecdotes & witty dissections of his friend's experiences, Dr. Murray has clearly & thoughtfully articulated why living, loving & leading from the heart is more necessary than ever. Emotional intelligence isn't some mystical thing far out of reach. This book gives you the language to bring your insides outside. The last thing leaders need is another tool for our tool box. What we need is a new tool box with more valuable tools. Keep this book close by. It should be a cornerstone of your leadership.

My observation is that centennials and some millennials are far more heart-engaged than previous generations, but they tend to lack leadership training, culturally speaking. Conversely, gen Xers, boomers and traditionalists often have more cultural-based leadership training, but tend to lack heart-engagement. The author brings these two worlds—leadership and heart-engagement—together in a manner that seems approachable for any generation. But it's not just about leadership, as the author demonstrates. Healthy heart-engagement impacts every aspect of your life and your relationships. This book highlights the need and then walks you through the process of gaining emotional intelligence in a way that just makes good sense. It's smartly communicated and very thorough.
