Dead Late (Things Unseen Book 3) Kindle Edition
The gripping, enthralling conclusion to the award-winning Things Unseen romantic thriller series.
Dr. Cornelius O'Brien brought his new girlfriend, psychotherapist Neve Keane, to his home country of Ireland for a romantic getaway. There’s just one thing they need to do first: a personal favor for the President of the United States.
It’s supposed to be simple. Check on his goddaughter, who’s studying abroad in Cork City. But with each step they take, Neve and Cornelius find themselves slipping, then sliding irrevocably toward a terrifying, clandestine abyss of human suffering.
Now, trapped by dark forces he can't escape, Cornelius must make a terrible choice: violate the Hippocratic oath or put Neve in imminent danger. Kept in the dark, Neve faces her own perilous dilemma: honor her promise to Cornelius or act quickly to keep an innocent young woman out of the hands of murderers.
Meanwhile, the patient is prepped... and the clock is ticking.

About the author
~ Page-Turners with Heart ~
Following the advice to “write what you know,” ANISE EDEN authors gripping, award-winning thrillers and paranormal romantic suspense novels. Her qualifications include growing up in the countryside where rattlesnakes and cougars jumped out of nowhere; living with family members who are a little bit psychic; and having her life saved on more than one occasion by her SEAL Team of guardian angels.
After college, Anise soaked up life in NYC, Washington DC, and points in between. She tried her hand at grooming horses, scooping ice cream, and designing billboards before returning to school to become a psychotherapist. Though she left that field after many rewarding years, Anise remains a mental health advocate and contributes to podcasts on living with ADHD.
Continuing her real-life adventures, Anise is now exploring life in Ireland with her husband. While her books have won many awards, Anise’s propensity for dropping glass objects while barefoot makes it highly likely that her next win will be a Darwin Award.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2025What a ride! Just finished Dead Late last night. Stayed up late 3 nights in a row as I could not put it down! I've read all of Eden's earlier books, so I admit to being a big fan! While Dead Late is the last in a trilogy, Eden nicely sums up relevant info from earlier books so that you needn't have read those (though I highly recommend you do!) to read this one. As ever, her characters and plot are fantastic. I love the witty dialogue and banter between the two main characters Neve and Con plus the romantic tension between the two. So much fun. But the plot itself is gripping and highly suspenseful. A definite page-turner you will not want to miss!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2024Throughout this romantic suspense series we’ve been seeing things of the supernatural/paranormal woven in. This book was no different. The take this book had was in the psychic arena. Now, I don’t agree entirely with how things went down. Do I think some psychics can get info? Yes. Do I think they are actually talking to and seeing the dead? No. I would say they are talking to demons who may take on the looks of specific people but aren’t them. And, I definitely don’t think they’d do and say anything out of a desire to help humanity whether physically or emotionally. So, that part was a bit flat for me. However, a good web was woven for our mains that ties back into the first book in this series. There was suspense and violence and romance (a romance continued through the series). This book takes place in Ireland, which is cool. The romance was closed door but I didn’t know that until the book was over that it would be that way as there is definitely suggestion and promises. There were a few pieces of language at times.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2024Dead Late (Things Unseen Series) by Anise Eden is a great romance thriller series
For a romantic vacation, Dr. Cornelius O'Brien took his new girlfriend, psychologist Neve Keane, to his native Ireland. Performing a personal favor for the President of the United States is the only thing they must do initially. It is meant to be easy. Check in on his goddaughter, who is in Cork City studying abroad. However, Neve and Cornelius are slipping with every step they take, and eventually they are plunging permanently down a hideous and horrifying abyss of human agony. Now that he is imprisoned by evil forces from which he cannot free himself, Cornelius is forced to make the horrible decision to either break the Hippocratic oath or endanger Neve.
Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. The story really brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2024The conclusion of this captivating trilogy is nothing short of exhilarating, leaving the door open for further adventures that fans will eagerly anticipate. The growth of Neve and Con throughout the series is remarkable; their journey, though compressed into a short timeframe, feels expansive and richly developed. One of the most compelling aspects of this final installment is the couple's unwavering commitment to each other. Their relentless fight for their relationship culminates in gratifying results, making the emotional stakes all the more poignant. The plot is filled with unexpected twists and turns that keep readers guessing at every turn, making it nearly impossible to put the book down. I was thoroughly engaged from start to finish, and the satisfying ending left me both delighted and hopeful for the future. It’s clear that Neve and Con deserve more thrilling escapades, and I sincerely hope this isn’t the last we see of them. This series is a must-read for those who appreciate dynamic characters and a well-crafted narrative.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2024Dead Late is book 3 of the Things Unseen Series by Anise Eden. In this romantic thriller we're taken to Ireland with Con and Neve. But first, they have to make a quick stop to check in on Kayla, the President of the United States' goddaughter who is in Cork City. This turns out to be quite the dangerous feat, however, and we are taken on a twisty ride! Although this is part of a series, I do believe this could be read easily enough as a standalone. I do, however, recommend reading the whole series because I think all of the books have been great!

Meanwhile, the patient is prepped... and the clock is ticking." What is going to happen with neve ? Is she able to protect this patient, will have to read the book to find out. This is the 3rd in the series. I recommend reading from the beginning to follow the characters. Good storyline, had me at some points like what is happening, good and fast read. I am not sure how I feel the way it ended but I give this book 4 stars.

I felt like this was a good conclusion to the series. It seemed like everything came full circle. That being said, I would not be mad if the series continued. Our protagonist, Neve and Con, are fun to follow, they are predictable only to the end that they will find trouble. I recommend reading the full series. It’s a page turning, romantic thriller. The cast of characters are interesting and amusing and there are definitely some you will love to hate.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dark thriller / romantic suspense
I’m sad this is the last book in this series.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every book, and this final book was yet another dark, suspense filled read.
Con takes Neve to his hometown, Cork for a romantic break. Only danger has followed them on their trip, and nothing seems to go to plan. Can they get themselves out of the trouble they find themselves in?
