Could not put the book down. So much action, humour and adventure. Continues from the last book and this time we head off to the basajaunak village. Loved learning more about the basajaunak and how Jessie and the gang handle the challenges they are faced. The characters are quirky just like me which is why this is one of my favourite series. Can’t wait for the next one to come out to find out what will happen next.

Ms Breene's characters are believable, the story is entertaining and transitions smoothly from one scene to the next, and the comedic timing is perfect and not over the top. As I said in the headline, book six was interesting and funny, but it lacked the five-star quality of the first five books. There were parts that just felt too dragged out and not-at-all necessary or fun... and I'm still not convinced that someone like Jessie, who is supposedly intelligent, would have SPOILER ALERT taken so long to embrace her gargoyle when it was so clearly needed. I found that immensely frustrating. And yet, I still enjoyed the laughs and the characters enough to want to continue on to book 7, which is why I've given the book four stars.
