I purchased this for my letterbox, it does a fantastic job of covering up the smell of a litter box and soaks up liquid quite well. Unfortunately, my cat doesn't like the texture on his feet and I had to switch back to regular litter. Highly recommend to anyone who's feline doesn't mind what litter it is using, and definitely a lot cheaper than regular litter.
My cat loves this cat litter, I know it doesn't say cat litter but it works. Odor reduced and literally no mess around the cat box. I recommend getting one.
This is better than the pine litter from regular pet stores. Unfortunately don't have barn supply stores near me to pick up a similar product. This is a great product for a good price and has no unnecessary ingredients like the ones from the pet store. Unscented and the pine sometimes just gives off a light wood smell that is much better than the clay ammonia smell you get from regular litter.
I got this when Feline Pine sold out to Arm and Hammer, and A&H turned excellent Feline Pine into regular horse bedding anyway, but at a specialty cat product price.
Note- for kitty litter- I use the pine pellet litterbox and recommend it. that $20-10 shipping $30 dollar- so, expensive for an open pan-style- cat litter box has saved me a fortune in clean up, in litter cost, in evil muddy dusty bad-for-cats clay litter. Any pine beats clay and the drop down pan system, all my cats and fosters love not getting their feeties wet. Great system these sieve down pine litter trays.
Back to THIS product? A bit of pine dust, crumbly, but now Feline Pine is cheap chop anyway but costs more.
this- $8 plus $17 for shipping- that's $25 dollars for forty lbs of very entirely serviceable all pine cat litter. GREAT
(A note. I tried using wood stove pellets also- they're cheap. BUT - most are made of mixed wood- hicory, etc. These do not smell good with wee, and do not absorb wee and break apart as readily. If you've jumped the costly Feline Pine ship when they sold out, this bedding is great, there are good horse beddings out there too- just the same pine pellets cheap in bulky but non pine Stove Pellets are not good for kitty litterboxes.)
UPDATE- The prices for this, and the price and formulation of Feline Pine changed since I first wrote this review. This now costs $1 dolalr per pound through Amazon distributors and is no longer a good buy! And the price on FB is down- I find it on pet supply websites (with free shipping on orders over $50, so I get cat food with it) and now FPs formula is better, AND the price comes to about $20 per 40lb bag including (free) shipping.
Whatever you use- this or FP or another pine pellet litter- there are many easy bargains. If you pay more than 50 cents a pound (or less) for pine pellet litter, including shipping, you're paying too much - look around on pet sites or check back on Amazon for bargains on say, Feline Pine or other pine pellet products.
Everyone loves this litter but it doesn’t clump. The pee crumbles into dust so it’s not easy to clean. The reviews were misleading. Such a shame cuz it’s a fantastic price, but it’s important to get clumping litter so that you can monitor your cats urinary health
I foster and own several cats. I have currently 4cats and 9 fosters of various ages. So my apartment can stink.. but my friend recommended I use pellets . I will say the compressed pine is great for absorbancey and smell control.. cover up of their faces is an (eh) but that's my cars issues.. I love the NO DUST, and NO TRACKING.. meaning I'm not finding litter particles all over my apartment or even in my bed (yeah gross I know) only issue Ive run into is the gnats/fruit fly size bugs.. that's not the brands fault it's because with regular clay litter or clumping litter they have "dust" which kills insects. I have no eggs so no maggots.. just fruit fly sized buggers.. nothing a little diatomaceous earth can't fix.. I highly recommend this product.. 4 cats 3 boxes 1once a week clean up.
this is the best litter for my small animals litter boxes also good price for the size bag and really good customer service i have bought this at least 6 or 7 times now i will be a repeat buyer
