I bought an external drive capable of 2000 MB/s transfer speed through a USB C 3.2 GEN 2X2 port. I bought a PCIe card that added 1 USB C 3.2 GEN 2X2 port to my PC. This PCIe card requires a PCIe slot of Gen 3 or higher with a width of X4 lanes or higher. The cable that came with the new drive was about 6 inches long. 2000 MB/s was confirmed with crystal disk mark bench mark. I tried a regular high quality 6.6 ft USB C ram pow cable which is capable of Super Fast Charging on my Samsung Fold 3, but only was able to hit about 400-500 MB/s. I googled best USB C cable because amazon reviews for that ram pow cable were in the many tens of thousands range and that review score failed me in realm of external data transfer speed. This Cable Matters Intel Certified Active cable showed up as one of the best possible cables for any USB C, USB4 or TB4 device. It did not say USB C 3.2 GEN 2X2 but I did not trust the other cables that did say that. This 6.6 ft cable is the REAL DEAL. 6.6 ft of glorious power and blazing transfer speed of 2066 MB/s externally! BUY THIS CABLE if you actually care about real maximum data transfer speeds. If you are one of those people that buy something that says 2000 MB/s and you never bother to run a benchmark, then go get a cheaper cable.

    This Cable Matters Thunderbolt 4 Cable works as advertised, which is saying a lot, given my past experiences. I've ordered other Thunderbolt 4 cables at the same price point that didn't deliver the promised connectivity with my high-end hardware. This one, however, lives up to its claims.

    One improvement suggestion: a mechanism to secure the cables to prevent accidental disconnection when maneuvering around your workspace.

    I have a 32-inch 4k 144hz monitor and needed a way to carry that data from my M1 Max Macbook Pro 16. This cable does that, and it also carries the USB data from the monitor's built-in USB hub as well as charges the laptop with 18w (the max the monitor provides). I have also tested its thunderbolt capabilities and it works flawlessly for data transfer as well.

    If you have this use case and are okay with 3 ft or shorter, do not buy this cable, USB 4 cables can do the same thing over that distance. When I bought this, there was no 6 ft USB 4 cable on the market that could handle 4k 144hz. This cable, while expensive, works flawlessly. I have also used it for high-speed data transfer between devices and it is a lifesaver for that as well. It also works over windows and works with g-sync at the same time.

    High price aside (which is just how much thunderbolt cables cost), this cable is fantastic.

    I bought an external drive capable of 2000 MB/s transfer speed through a USB C 3.2 GEN 2X2 port. I bought a PCIe card that added 1 USB C 3.2 GEN 2X2 port to my PC. This PCIe card requires a PCIe slot of Gen 3 or higher with a width of X4 lanes or higher. The cable that came with the new drive was about 6 inches long. 2000 MB/s was confirmed with crystal disk mark bench mark. I tried a regular high quality 6.6 ft USB C ram pow cable which is capable of Super Fast Charging on my Samsung Fold 3, but only was able to hit about 400-500 MB/s. I googled best USB C cable because amazon reviews for that ram pow cable were in the many tens of thousands range and that review score failed me in realm of external data transfer speed. It did not say USB C 3.2 GEN 2X2 but I did not trust the other cables that did say that. This 6.6 ft cable is the REAL DEAL. 6.6 ft of glorious power and blazing transfer speed of 2066 MB/s externally! BUY THIS CABLE if you actually care about real maximum data transfer speeds. If you are one of those people that buy something that says 2000 MB/s and you never bother to run a benchmark, then go get a cheaper cable.

    The cable originally worked great and seemed sturdy relative to other USB-C cables I've owned. However, after less than three months, the cable failed and no longer charges my computer. The cable has no visible damage, so I can't figure out why it is no longer functioning, but back to an old (much thinner) USB-C cable that is doing just fine and costs a fraction of the price. I reached out to seller to see what support they can provide; will update here when they respond back to me.

    Not sure why there isn't more information about this online but here it is now. The Logitech Logi Dock is a great all in one dock for small conferencing. We are using it for a couple of conference rooms at the moment. Only issue it the original dock comes with a wimpy 3ft cable. Turns out the necessary cable is NOT proprietary to Logitech, you just need a Thunderbolt 4 with 40GBps and 100W charging. This one is working perfectly fine for our needs. The end.

    My workstation includes a Dell Ultrawide with a built in hub/docking station (U3419W) and a ThinkPad X1 Nano - Gen 2. The 3'/1m cables aren't quite long enough for my layout.

    I went through 3 cables ... none worked until I found this one.

    The difference between the cables? Active! Everything else was the same. I did not know until now that Active cables is a thing (and I'm a tech guy). The other cables I tried (two were even Cable Matters cables) were passive (or at least not advertised as active). When plugged in, the monitor & peripherals did not make a connection with the computer.

    I plugged one end into my Philips Brilliance 499P and the other into my MacBook Pro and it instantly worked perfectly. It is well made and a good length. I was wondering if I should buy the Apple equivalent but decided to buy this less expensive cable.
