An Embarrassment of Itches: Ginny Reese Mysteries, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
It's Diagnosis Murder meets All Creatures Great and Small...
As a house-call vet, Ginny Reese has seen her share of the weird and wacky. But nothing in her previous experience could have prepared her to find one of her clients floating in her own swimming pool.
Local artist Amanda Kelly was extremely wealthy with her share of secrets. By naming Ginny as her heir, not only did she make Ginny the number one suspect, but she painted a big bull's eye on her friend's back as well.
With her trusty German Shepherd at her side, it's up to Ginny to find the real killer and prove her innocence to the sheriff. The new sheriff. Who happens to be her ex.
Piece of cake, right?

The plot was really well written and compelling!! The mystery was masterfully written, and I did not come close!!! I love surprise endings!!
Being a huge animal lover, especially horses & dogs, I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Ginny’s many patients as a traveling vet.
I’m looking forward to reading more in the Ginny Reese Series, already ordered the next two books and hoping they’ll arrive today!! If you enjoy mysteries, animals and a slow-burn, hopeful romance, you will ADORE this series!!!
I just love her dog Remy, what a sweetheart! I have a feeling it might take her a while to warm back up to her old boyfriend Joe who's now sheriff, but at least when she wasn't a suspect he was incredibly nice to her. I could tell she was tempted to go right back, lol.
Just a note to whoever this matters to: Deputy Holly started off as Holly but ended up as Helen, so I'm not real sure if it's just an editing thing or what. Anyone else who notices, you're just as sane as I am! ;)
I really enjoyed the mystery and the key players. I was totally surprised by the killer and what a great showdown! Some of Joe's comments about it were priceless lol. I'm really looking forward to more books in this series
With the delightful turn of phrase that is her signature, Dean grabs your interest and keeps you engaged throughout. Her characters are well- drawn and three-dimensional, popping from the page to entrench themselves quickly as people you care about.
Losing no time, the dead body - the mc's closest friend - turns up in the first pages of chapter one; the narrative pulling you to keep turning pages from that point on.
The first in a new Dean series, Embarrassment of Itches is surprising, quirky, and captivating. You're guaranteed to enjoy it, and keep coming back for more.

I picked this book up on a lazy Saturday morning and read it all in one sitting. Then I immediately bought the 2nd book & finished it the next day. Highly recommended!
No spoilers but definitely love on the horizon but a slow burn not just in this book but I think for the series. This In itself is a definite tug for the romance reader to know more and for the mystery reader to wonder how often Ginny can annoy the police department before winning his heart if she doesn’t get herself killed mixing with the wrong people.
Well written and lots of warmth means looking forward to more from our intrepid vet would be sleuth.
A wonderful read.
I did enjoy reading An Embarrassment of Itches. The mystery was interesting and well done. It took me a bit of time to really like Ginny, the main character. I cannot put my finger on why I didn't love her, at first, but she did grow on me by the end. Overall, this story was an entertaining and delightful cozy. I am only too happy to continue in the series :D.

The plot is classic cosy, but very enjoyable. Ginny is independent, feisty and fun. There is a lot of humour. It's a very good read.
I have bought and read the second book in the series. It's just as good as the first, and I am looking forward to the third.
Unlike most cosy mysteries, which are almost always set in coffee shops or bakeries -- so much so, I used to think that you weren't allowed to call them a 'cosy' unless your heroine offered you a cupcake recipe along with the murder -- this one involves a vet (the kind that treats animals rather than a retired military person) in rural America. Yes, there's a murder to solve and a cute sheriff as potential love interest for vet Ginny Reese, but this book is very different in the atmosphere M K Dean creates. The characters are well fleshed out, some to the point of evoking horrified, amused fascination - Ginny's mother! Goodness, what a woman *she* is! There's a real sense of authenticity too in the rural setting, and the day-to-day issues facing a vet who, despite her skills and experience, is only just getting by financially. I suspect that is closer to reality than the glamour of most cosy books.
For nothing else, I would recommend this book for the wonderful moment in which Ginny deals with a man who threatens her dog. Let us just say that given she's used to hauling around huge bales of hay, dragging the man into humiliating submission by his family jewels was an easy task in comparison. I haven't laughed so much in ages.
Highly recommended, people. A great read. Bring on more Ginny Reese, please!
I absolutely adored this book.

I absolutely adored this book.
The characters are endearing and moments within the book really made me laugh. I love how feisty and fun Ginny is and her mother reminds me of the Shakespeare quote ‘though she be but little, she is fierce’.
I’m already excitedly waiting for more instalments from the adventures of Ginny.
The characters are real, a little gritty and well executed. The pacing is spot on and the mystery..well, I won't spoil it, but I didn't solve it ahead of time! Loved that it kept me guessing right until the end.
