I used a grey plastic wall switch enclosure to house the shunt. I used a dremel tool to open the side in order to accommodate the shunt and used zip ties to keep it secured in place. I attached this box to the wall very close to the connector where or the negative load connectors merge using about six inches of #2 cable. The battery cable on the other side is about one foot.
I then used a length of 2 two conductor cables with red and black wires inside. I used the two black wires for the connectors that attach to the shunt side on the battery side and a red one for the shunt on the side that connects to the load side on the shunt and the other red for the positive power source or the meter. That allowed me to place the meter on the wall in a place that it is easy for me to read. The reading is very accurate and it reads the same numbers as my Wattsup RC hobby meter.
