Drafted Paperback – September 25, 2023
Purchase options and add-ons
Protection. Justice. Order.
Three words that haunt Reverie Adams every day.
For years, the government has advertised the Draft as necessary to preserve the future of Ordinem. Sacrifice a little freedom for the protection of all. But for Rev, that sacrifice struck a little too close to home.
Known to most of Ordinem as the Archer, Rev has turned vigilante with a single mission: to avenge her little sister's disappearance eleven years ago and eliminate those responsible for the Draft. Upon taking out her latest targets, however, Rev makes a discovery that derails her plans: TJ and Riya Collins, their two secret children. Against her better judgment, Rev takes on the responsibility of keeping the two safe. And, despite her efforts, she forms a tenuous bond with them.
When the leader of the Draft puts a target on TJ's back, Rev will have to risk everything for the people she cares about--even if it means putting her mission on the line and confronting the shadows of her past.
If you enjoyed the suspense of Marie Lu's Warcross and the fast-paced action of the TV show Arrow, you'll love the thrilling adventure of Drafted. Pick up a copy and join Rev in her quest for vengeance--and the truth.

About the author
Tommie is a high school author and Christ-follower living in Gilbert, AZ with her parents and two dogs. When she's not writing stories or in school, you can find her teaching piano lessons, singing in her choir or on a worship team, or sitting in a local coffee shop with an iced latte. Tommie seeks to honor God in writing clean fiction that centers on Biblical themes, where light always triumphs over darkness and flawed characters are transformed, and her favorite part of writing is taking thrilling journeys with her characters and bringing readers along for the ride.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Y’all, this is the first dystopian book I have ever read! I loved it! I am usually quite weary about what I am reading, and I have certain standards of how a book can be “clean”. This one fits them all!!!🤩🤩🤩🏹🏹🏹
Characters:
Though the main girl, Reverie, is a vigilante who has a cold careless heart in the beginning, you see her character change and grow. She has spent the last year living a double life, one as Reverie Adams and one as the notorious vigilante know as The Archer. She struggles with trust and connections with people. Through it all she is focused on her single goal, to do whatever she has to do in order to find and rescue her sister, Eliza.
This is complicated when TJ and Riya turn up after the death of their parents.
The main boy, TJ, struggles with trust and hatred towards the one who killed his parents, leaving him and his little sister alone to fend for themselves, we see his character change as he sees the destruction of hate and power of forgiveness.
Content:
Overall the book is very clean. There is no cussing. One mention of “holy—“, but it hangs unfinished. There are uses of the words idiot and stupid. There are times when a character “curses under their breath” though it is never written out.
This book is not graphic, but our main girl is still a vigilante. We see her kill, threaten, and torture people to get what she wants. We see a good deal of physical pain, bullet wounds, torture, arrow wounds, mentioning executions, crime, serial killers, drowning, needle injections, and other kinds of violence.
With all of that ⬆️ said, I do appreciate that, though the story mentions these things, it does not describe the gore in much depth. We know enough to get the picture without being grossed out.
Negative:
Lies, hatred, stealing, sarcasm, fear, mentions of panic attacks, betrayal, fights using people, and killing.
As for sexual content:
It is very clean in this way. No innuendos, suggestive talk or mentions of sexual activity.
There is connection between two characters that hints that something more may come in later stories, but nothing more. There is an instance where a character leaves and he kisses his sister’s forehead.
There are a few mentions of “who likes who” in a high school kind of setting.

Personal experience:
Overall this is a very clean interesting dystopian book. Thanks to Tommie Michele for writing such a great story and to Lindsey at the blog Books for Christian Girls, for featuring this in one of her videos! I very much enjoyed this story. It had great character development and depth. I will definitely be on the look out for more of Tommie Michele’s books!
🏹‼️ I would definitely recommend this book for anyone thirteen and older, who loves dystopian fiction. Of course, parents should always read up on it and decide whether or not they think this is appropriate for their children.‼️🏹

This story hooks you from the first chapter and keeps you entertained until the last page. What I loved most about this book was that you become so invested in the story you forget you are reading a story about teenagers. This book is for readers of all ages. Ms. Michele’s ability to tell a story is incredible. The fact that this author is also in high school just adds another level of appreciation.
I highly recommend this story and I am looking forward to the next chapter in Rev’s journey.
Drafted by Tommie Michele was one heck of an adventure. Firstly, I love how the author makes a smaller map feel so big. She doesn't need a million different settings to immerse us into the world of Ordinem. The government set up and details of how the book's dystopian world works are some key elements to the super solid world-building we see in the book. Secondly, I love that each character has their own feel to them; the author does a great job at giving everyone their own unique voice. Thirdly, the character development. I loved the character development of TJ and Rev; TJ growing more courage & Rev finally knowing how to healthily express her emotions. Lastly, the pacing & description in the book are superb! Total page turner!
The reason why it's not a full 5 star for me is just because at times it was hard to believe the characters-more in the beginning. However, from the standpoint of a believer, I see that redemption and forgiveness are some huge themes here and are seen a lot toward the end of the book. This being said, TJ's big heart -though most would think he's crazy for half of the stuff he puts up with - reminds me of how the Lord's told us to be forgiving and selfless.
This book was a great set-up for the next book of the Drafted Series and I'm super excited for it!

Told from dual POV this story has mystery, drama, action, violence, and a focus on justice and revenge.
Rev has one goal in life to find out what happened to her little sister, and must live a secret life under The Archer allias to try and uncover the truth, and get to the root of the conspiracy, killing any threats along the way.
Meanwhile TJ and Riya have their lives turned upside down with their parents murder and must go on the run, forced to team up with an enemy to uncover their own truths and stay alive.
With secrets, lies and betrayals noone knows who can be trusted, but a group of teenagers and a vigilante Archer forming an alliance might be the only way to uncover the truth of 'The Draft' and save the people they care about.
This was an exciting read with strong characters, creative world building and dark themes explored. Looking forward to book 2 in the Drafted series.
