Good Budget Aluminet Shade
I ordered the aluminet shade cloth too keep my vehicle cool during dog shows. I have a few other aluminate shade cloths, that cost an arm and a leg - and they're quite a bit heavier.This aluminet is lightweight, and a bit fragile. It comes with nylon rope so you can tie it down.In regards to quality, I am not impressed. I found a few aluminum "strings" floating around on my shade cloth. In one section, it looks like the cloth may have ripped and was re-sewn together (see video).The grommets are okay, but the black border material feels like cheap tarp plastic and it's unweaving in a few spots around the grommets.I plan on keeping my aluminet for as long as it lasts. When it goes, I plan on replacing it with a higher quality aluminet from somewhere else.

    This is awful material it's scratchy and will put scratches on your car which I did not notice when I first started using it and now I have missed the return window and I'm stuck with this piece of garbage I guess it'll be going in the trash

    I got this to try out as a shade cloth for my plants and it really worked well to cut down on the heat. When we were going through a heatwave, I used it to cover my seating area when I was planting new seeds.
    Nice material at the ends of the cover but be careful not to get any of the aluminum strings get caught on any branches or it can pull it out and make it uneven. Very nice that the weave of the cloth lets most of the wind pass through it if it’s tied down. If you’re going to use this on your car, maybe find a way to tie it down a little. Otherwise pretty nice.

    I recently used this sun shade over my car while camping. When I opened the package, unfortunately, there was a silver strand that had somehow been snagged in the packaging process and was sticking out. So I needed to be extra careful not to snag it again when putting the cover over my car. I have a mud-sized SUV and this cover fit from the bottom of the windshield (I put the windshield wipers on it to hold it in place) across the top and down the back to just cover the back window (again putting the wiper over it to hold in place). It hung down both sides far enough that it covered the side windows, as well. Yes, it has grommets and comes with string to hold it in place, but I found that the windshield wipers do a really good job. It kept my car cool throughout the trip.

    I ordered this for my FIL to use because he has Parkinson's and has issues with the heat/sun but spends a lot of time outdoors nonetheless. He loves it! He used it over his small pickup when he's on the beach fishing, he'll use it around the yard to block the sun when doing yard work, planting, etc. He said it's lightweight and easy to use/drape wherever he needs it and helps to keep protect him from the sun and heat of the day.

    I had gotten this for my dog. He loves being in the back of the car and there are many occasions when I want to keep him as cool as possible. Ironically, I did not end up using this for the dog yet. I instead used it for myself. I had a booth at a local flea market. It was fine in the morning, but as the day were on the sun, not only got hot, but very intense. I happen to have this in the car and was able to block the heat and use it as a sunshade. The only issue was that it was very bright reflecting the sun so the people shopping the flea market had a little trouble looking at the stuff on the table. But that does not detract from the product doing what it says it will do. I was able to stay cool during the hottest part of the day.
