Absolutely Brilliant and Beautiful Prose
This collection was ineffable. I have no other way of saying it, I cannot express how much I loved it. Devout whispered to my heart, ripped it out, used a flaming sword to tear it into tiny pieces, twisted said sword. Then stitched every single laceration back together with surgeon hands, gently placed it back into my chest cavity, and sewed me back up. All while using the most poetical, heart wrenching prose I have ever read.I picked this anthology up for Rafael Nicolás and I stayed for the religious trauma and queer angels. Does it get any better than that? After reading this, I now know that I would read anything by these creators and Quinton Li. In fact, I would just sell my soul to read their works again.

    I found out about this through a post by one of the authors included in this anthology, whom I absolutely adore, and was very excited to be a part of the early review team. It's a quick read with a wide range of short stories and poems that revolve around the topic of angels. I enjoyed the majority of the stories. There was so much inclusivity within these 143 pages, both within the stories and by the authors themselves! I really loved that aspect of this anthology. Also, each piece has content warnings at the beginning, which I felt was incredibly thoughtful. If you enjoy inclusive stories about angels, angels and mortals "involved" with each other, and shorter anthologies, then I would definitely recommend checking this one out. But be advised, these are not your grandma's angels...so if you clutch your pearls easily, then this collection is likely not for you. Enjoy!

    Beautiful. Wicked. Disgusting. Angelic.
    I wish I had the time to analyze every poem, story, and art piece within this anthology because they were all truly incredible. Many of them touched me in ways I couldn't describe, with the way they handled relationships, religion, and the trauma that can come with them. And oh, the angels, the angels. Each author had their own perfect and terrifying interpretation of them, whether it was the concept of angels as a whole, or specific characters like Lucifer or Mephistopheles reimagined for the text.
    I highly recommend this anthology.
