A little clunky but works well. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS AND IT WILL NOT BREAK.
It seems like the attachment could have been engineered a little better, or have a slip mechanism built in, but ok. If it was solid metal something much worse would happen when people try to stir a solid block of frozen cream. Set it up carefully and get it running BEFORE adding any ingredients! then it will work 100%. This is literally on pg1 of the manual, and the people breaking their attachment simply are not following instructions. I bought this for the fam and we went over it carefully. Never the less, a couple months later they ignored the instructions, poured the ingredients in first, then *snap* when the mixer came on. 'Its a piece of junk dad!'. OK how long was it sitting there. "not long maybe 10min". Well there you go. Read and follow the instructions or pay the price. Highly recommended if you can do that.

Received this yesterday, read the instructions, washed the bowl, dasher and drive, dried the bowl and put into the back of my freezer. The bowl had approximately an 18hour freeze. Put my ice cream ingredients together and placed into the refrigerator for for 30 mins. Put the dasher in the bowl, placed the bowl on the mixer, set the drive onto the dasher, lifted the arm into place, turned the mixer onto the stir setting and then slowly poured in the batter. Set a timer for 30 mins and away we went! I have some rasberry plants by the house so, I made some raberry ice cream and near the end of the mixing, put in some mini semi sweet chocolate chips. Sooo good! The mix was completed in 22 minutes. If you want a nice way to make ice cream and not have to buy an ice cream maker, this is perfect and the consistency is perfect. If I had any gripes it's only that the drive and dasher are plastic. There is a fluid within the walls of the bowl, that fluid has to be completely frozen solid or you may not get the desired results, hence the long freeze to be sure. The mixture will expand as it freezes and as with anything there will be some cleanup afterward.
