Be mindful of where and what you're clamping to
Since I received it in April I've had this clamped to one of those collapsible folding tables you might take camping - said table is made of sturdy, thick plastic and metal, used solely in my crafting room. Nothing has been spilled on or near this clamp, and while it seems sturdy and has held up under the minor use its seen (holding small resin works still so I can drill jump ring holes) I took it off the table today to move it and found it's stained the surface underneath. Would caution others to maybe put something between the clamp and the surface you're clamping to, or else only clamp this to something you don't mind potentially being stained or "ruined." Luckily this is a work table that's not meant to remain pristine so not the biggest deal for me personally but it might be for others.

This came in a box that is all in German, and has a solid build to it that is consistent with what I would expect out of a German-made item. It is good-sized and does everything as listed and shown in the listing photos. There weren't any directions in the box, but if you are a DIY kind of person, it shouldn't be hard for you to figure it out. I would grade it a medium level bench vice, definitely WAY above those 'toy' vices made in China that are small as the palm of your hand and pretty flimsy. For most 'not-large or really heavy' DIY projects, I think it would be fine, and for the price you can't beat it. It's a Prime item and mine came overnight, with a $25 total purchase.
Update: I have used the vice several times now. I saw some of the recent critical reviews over the last 6 months about falling apart, poor craftmanship, junk, made in China etc. I just don't see it. This is a great product and everything about it is strong and firm and easily manipulates to any sort of tile or position you want and tightens down with no issues. And no way is this made in China. I think maybe some people just want to say bad things because they can or they have other motivations. This is supported by the fact of the majority of the reviews being stellar. I would ignore the odd pennies. BTW, if it arrives looking like they sent you a used or returned one, don't whine about it, send it back for a free replacement, it's a Prime item!

Considering that alternatives to this hobbyist vise can easily cost twice as much (or more) this is an outstanding value. I purchased this to build an Artesania Latina, S.A. wooden ship model kit. The hull planking steps in particular required that the model be held solidly and securely at all manner of different orientations. The Fasmov table vise performed that vital function extremely well. It's done everything I've asked it to do and the fact that it cost less than $20 (at the time of this product review) makes it an outstanding value.

This isn't a heavy duty bench vise; certainly nothing you'd want to use for significant woodworking. But it's no fragile toy either. Whenever I take a chance on a budget alternative, I'm always worried I'll end up with some poor imitation that isn't up to the task. For model building at least, this thing was rock solid. The castings aren't finish level quality, but they're by no means rough either. I cannot vouch for the quality of the metal itself. But there's enough of it in critical spots that I've seen or felt absolutely nothing to concern me about cracking or flexing when I crank down on the main jaws, the table clamping mechanism or the ball swivel mount. Everything locks down nice and tight.

I'd have to think that anyone less than pleased with this product either has unrealistic expectations at this price point, or has attempted to use it for heavier duty tasks than it's designed for. I've made my fair share of mistakes spending too little on a tool that ultimately disappoints. Not so with the Fasmov Swivel 3" Universal Table Vise. It's a great addition to any model maker's workbench.

Normally I don't give even those products that I like more than 4 out of 5 stars. Few products are perfect including this one (it includes soft plastic inserts on the jaws and the top of the table clamp, but not on the bottom of it, so it may mar the underside of your table/workbench). But considering what you're getting for less than $20, this vise is a terrific value.

I received this vise to use on the boat for holding tackle parts and hooks for sharpening. On the workbench it easily attaches with the provided clamp. I find it really useful for holing small gun and reel parts when I work on them. This is not a heavy duty vise but is perfect for working on more delicate parts and has become an invaluable third hand for my work.

the rubber pads on the vice teeth are not great. May need to glue them to stay, but think even then they will stretch out and fall off. The angles and versatility, coupled with the good price make this a nice product. Nice tool that isn't too heavy that can hold a decent amount of items steady while working on them, and the light weight and size makes this easily portable.

    ** UPDATE***

The casing around the ball joint snapped with minimal, and I mean minimal, force. Worked for about a day. See pics. All I was doing was holding a four pound bow up. It broke when I was tightening it. Junk

I bought this to hold a bow in place while I worked on it and for that it works pretty good. I just take the stabilizer off of my bow and place the vise on the corner of my bench and then pivot the jaws fully to the vertical position. I place the grip of the bow in the vise. For the price I think it’s pretty good for LIGHT work.

I should mention I am a tradesman and this “vise” is not intended for any type of heavy wrenching. I would not attempt to use it for plumbing. You need to use a heavy duty vise that is bolted down for that type of work. I would use it for light work like the aforementioned example, or maybe tying flies, or for using as a third hand in general. It is smaller than I expected.
