This book was great because Parker’s approach was practical using her own experiences which made it one of the most interesting business books I have read. Instead of writing about theories and esoteric approaches to business leadership, Parker creatively ties business issues with “Dr. Jekyll” and “Mr. Hyde” skillfully demonstrating how leaders can be "Dr. Jekyll" one moment, exhibiting all the best qualities of a leader, and then "Mr. Hyde" the next, showing a completely different side that negatively impacts the business and its employees.

By using Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Parker practically presents issues, explains root causes and how they manifest in your business, and then gives practical guidance on how to move forward. Too often we see ourselves through rose colored glasses. It is the emotionally mature individual who takes a moment to self-reflect on behaviors, attitudes, and emotions. I have known Liz for over 10 years and during that time she has been my professional development coach, a strategy coach, facilitator for various projects and most importantly a friend. She has helped me in my professional career development using some of the tools and processes discussed in “Who’s Leading Your Business”. In the book she uses Jekyll and Hyde to describe what kind of leader you are. Without a doubt I was a Mr Hyde before working with Liz, with her coaching I have developed into more of a Dr Jekyll (or at least I think I have!).

If you are trying to conquer the “Monstrous” challenges of Vision, Values, Processes & More, look for “Who’s Leading Your Business” by Liz Parker on Amazon. Not only do you get a great read, but she also includes free tools you can use to start the process.
