Written in the active, engaging journalistic style that has characterized Ben Schreckinger's work at Politico, this book provides insights into the ups and downs of Joe Biden's path to power and family history. I most enjoyed the stories about his early days in Delaware politics and unlikely upset to win his Senate seat. Unfortunately, the many escapades of Hunter Biden make him appear even more troubled and increase your sympathy for his Father and the family that tries to support him. Biden's unfailing energy and dedication emerge from this book, for someone who comes from a fairly traditional political experience, he has largely evolved over time in a way that reflects both pragmatism and personal growth.
This book provides great information on the incidents that fueled Biden's leadership.

The Bidens' are not saints but when compared to their political enemies Trump and Giuliani they had facts and optics on their side plus the benefit of the doubt both from large chunks of the public and the media establishment. Hunter's investigation must come on to shed any doubt regarding Joe Biden's knowledge of his son's dealings.

I read a lot of biographies and I am usually more careful about the authors. It seems this biog was written by a fan and reads more like a PR treatment. The Bidens have been around politics for a long time and it seems from recent reports, there are quite a number of somewhat questionable facts being aired.
Any author of substance would have at least addressed them to give a true account of the subject - warts and all.
