⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"Despite Twisted Fate being Adam Lewis' debut novel, his writing style is that of a master at his craft. The story was well-paced. Adequate time was spent developing all of the characters and their relationships with one another. I was emotionally invested in Jay Sutherland's journey. He was introduced as a child scarred by neglect and abuse but developed into a man that you can depend on to bring about justice. On the other hand, I appreciated how Benedict, the main antagonist, was well-portrayed as a ruthless kingpin. I also liked that some intriguing plot twists heightened the suspense of the story. Once I started reading, it was difficult to put the book down. I highly recommend Twisted Fate to all avid readers interested in a character-driven, action-packed legal drama." - Juan Lynch, Reviewer via Reader's Favorite.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Page turner!
"Honestly, it usually takes me a week to read a book, but I read Twisted Fate in a single sitting. The story takes you on a journey with the main character and really draws you in. The book is believable, the characters are real. The tragedies sting and your heart rejoices at each victory. The Author ties everything together well, and unlike some other books in this genre, nothing feels contrived or forced. I closed the last page with a smile and was left wanting more." - Michael Reviewer via NetGalley.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Great!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I couln't put it down!
"This book is amazing! The story is split into three parts, covering Jay Sutherlands life. From his abusive childhood, being rescued by his Grandfather. His life as a young man in the military and then finally his coming into his life's true purpose in part three. "Twisted Fate," takes you on a journey. The characters are what drives the story, you feel so invested. I read until I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer and then picked it up as the sun rose the next morning. I just had to know what happened." - Doreen T. ARC reviewer.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2024Twisted Fate was a fantastic read! Your heart just breaks for the underdog protagonist, Jay, and then it breaks again. You watch as he takes two steps forward and falls one step back, climbing his way up in life, hit after hit. That karmic justice really hit the spot. I would love to see this played out in a movie.
I was impressed with how the character development touched on those disheartening societal truths, prompting some contemplation on how easy it is to lose yourself in addictions and personal moments of failure. Such is life. Yet, it kept sight of hope in individuals and in humanity—hope that there are always choices we can make, even when we feel lost, to do the right thing.
Suspenseful with the perfect amount of feel-good. I loved the hell out of it.
I also absolutely love this author. I had the good fortune of meeting Adam when we both lived in Okinawa. He is such a well-rounded, creative individual. He knows just how to capture moments and feelings beautifully. His work is moving. I sincerely hope he writes more books. I cannot wait to see what else he comes out with. I am following him, and I’m certain he won’t disappoint.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2024I don't typically read legal thrillers, but I enjoy them via TV shows, so I decided to try Twisted Fate, and it did not disappoint! The suspense is palpable, and the twists and turns had me guessing until the very end. We follow marine vet Jay through the most challenging case of his career, which drudges up his past demons. The story sucked me in from the start and was emotionally and psychologically compelling the whole way through! If you are a fan of legal dramas, there's no question you'll love Twisted Fate!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2024"Twisted Fate" captivates from start to finish, weaving the intense story of Jay Sutherland, New York's youngest district attorney. This thrilling ride through legal battles and personal demons keeps you glued to the pages. The author masterfully combines mystery and a deep emotional journey, making you feel every high and low alongside Jay. This novel is not just a legal drama; it's an exploration of resilience and redemption. For anyone who loves a good courtroom battle with a human touch, this book is a brilliant pick!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2024This thriller marks the author as one to watch in the space. The story takes a couple of wild turns, and it is hard to follow at times, but by the end, everything is wrapped up satisfactorily.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2024The part I really loved about Twisted Fate is the way it balanced suspense with emotional depth. The story doesn’t shy away from very difficult themes, but it handles them with care, shining a light on the strength it takes to overcome life’s darkest moments.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2024The main character, Jay, has such a complex backstory, and seeing him fight both his past and the corruption around him made it hard to put down. The twists were totally unexpected, which made the story exciting from start to finish. I also liked how it wasn’t just about the legal drama, but about his personal battles too. If you're into fast-paced legal thrillers with a lot of emotion, you’ll love this one!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2024Jay Sutherland's journey from decorated Marine to New York's youngest district attorney is a tale of inner turmoil.
Adam Lewis's debut novel starts slow but builds to an unputdownable crescendo, keeping readers on the edge of their seats, throwing them into a high-stakes case that forces Jay- the orotaganst- to confront his haunting past.
While the plot may meander at times, the payoff is worth it. It delivers a satisfying mix of personal drama and courtroom intrigue.
"Twisted Fate" marks Lewis as a promising new voice in the crime and mystery genre, leaving readers eager for his next offering.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2024Although I think Lewis had a good idea, and a premise that could've worked had it been executed differently, I found this book hard to read due to several factors.
Firstly, the book was riddled with punctuation and spacing errors.
Secondly, the author has strange and awkward turns of phrase, like "his face was covered with anticipation", instead of saying something like "his face was filled with anticipation".
Thirdly, the book was full of cliqued sayings, and the author's habit of head hopping from one character to another in the same scene made it confusing to follow which character's head I was supposed to be in.
The story should've started with the case the main character takes on, which would've made a far more interesting story if this had been explored in more detail, but instead, about half the book is all back story - and instead of writing these scenes as they happen, the scenes are described and told in laborious detail. It's a long ramble about the main character's life before, which would've been far more effective if it had been fed in smaller increments throughout the book, instead of a huge chunk of information that wasn't all that interesting because it felt like an info dump. I think the author was trying to get readers to feel something for his character, but this method just left me cold.
It's clear this story didn't benefit from any kind of editor or proofreader, and it's a shame because with the right guidance, and a thorough sweep for errors, I think this could've been a much better story.
